Can't find any of the new features
Hi,
This many seem like a silly problem but I can't find any of the new features!
- A while ago I downloaded ttdpatch and got it to work with the DOS version.
- I've got hold of a windows version and am using ttdpatch v2.0 to run it under 2000 and XP.
- I have the configurator. In both that and the cfg file I've switched build large stations on, yet in the game I still have the old station dialogue box.

I think you have a very very very old version of the Patch that may not have all the features you are looking for. What you want is the most current version, from the Patch website
ttdpatch.net
While you're there, you should also get the Configurator, which will make keeping track of things easier.
You might also want to consider installing the Windows version of TTD instead, I've found that to be more reliable.

TTDPatch 2.0r1 is indeed ancient. The latest versions can be found at http://www.ttdpatch.net/src. Be warned; the Configurator isn't exactly up-to-date; if you want to use miscmods or experimentalfeatures, you'll have to set them manually, in the Additional Switches pane.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

My tip: Edit the ttdpatch.cfg file manually. It even includes a description of all patches (if it's not generated by the Configurator). When I want to change a switch I just go Edit -> Find...
The maybe biggest benefit of editing the cfg file directly is that you aren't dependant on someone to include the new switches for each new version of TTDPatch...

[edit] Ah sorry guys, I've just realised I accidentally typed "I've now got a Windows version" as "I've not got". I think that changed the meaning a lot :/
I've edited the cfg file to include all the changes I'd like, and the readme supplied contains all the features.
Even as I've said, running the patch as -v brings up a list of switches and both Pre Signals and Big stations are marked as on: so I don't think its a problem with the features physically existing.
I'll grab an updated version tomorrow. The one I've got on this setup came with the game, the setup I had where it worked I obtained the patch myself.

OK, now I'm confused. Try what you said, and write back what happens.

Hi,
Sorry for being confusing, I'll try again.
Hope that's a bit clearer!
btw - I've just grabbed the latest version of ttdpatch.net - that says it's 2.0.1 - is that any different to 2.0 rev 1 which I have?

If you really have Patch v. 2.0, that's not good enough, you need the most recent alpha.
