Cannot start Dedicated, but Game works (Win98 woes)

Cannot start Dedicated, but Game works (Win98 woes)

If I start a dedicated server the Console window apprears and a Error-mesage to with "Cannot create console Thread".
Then Openttd quits...

Im using win98SE and 0.3.6

The problem is probably win98. I'll see if I can look at it. Stupid Win98 is total crap, if I were you I would not use it for a dedicated server anyways. Win98 crashes more than it is working :(

Well, i disagree.

My 98 is relative stable for an 98.

And what will you tell to my brother if i install on his machine Linux?
I can use his PC as a dedicated if he's away...

well, it has worked in 0.3.5

I used to have 98se and it sucked.

Then I upgraded to Windows 2k and I've never looked back.

well, it has worked in 0.3.5
Easy: boot from a Linux LiveCD, compile on (and run from) a usb stick, or even his HDD! ;)
