Mailtruck (new GFX engine)

Post by Jeffrey »

well i made a mailtruck , inspired by a opel blitz 8) ..hope you people like it, give me any tips on changing things about the model

I haven't done anything yet about the real colors(this colors are just temporary), because perhaps that will be done in blender since this was made with anim8or and the render file made by alltaken is .blend

Something's odd with it, i just can't seem to put my finger on it. Angles look kinda odd really, and it's kinda short and high. The front looks wery good though, while the tires are too pixeled (Well that's not a good worrd in 3D i guess but.. low poly then?)

it's got enough polies for use in game though you should look at the small render, not the big one ;)

looks nice raven. it needs some texture on the side of the truck though, you'd expect some sort of UPS logo :D

anyway, thanks

a ups logo on the side is possible however the truck is going to be verry small in the game, and then you can't almost read it. but i will give it a try

even the smallest render isn't small enough, because it has to be at least half the size of the smallest :?

hmm it either seems, to short, to wide, or to tall (the back part of it that is)

other than that its good :D.

Wow, that looks good. I agree with everyone else that it doesn't look quite right though, I think the back is a bit too tall. Have you got any other shots from different angles?

I don't know... I believe the problem with this is the front: it looks to narrow for the rest of the truck :?

But maybe making the back a bit longer might do the trick ;)

The back is the right size..

Its the cab itself thats too small. Make the windows and its roof taller.

Thanks for the reply's guys

I have changed some things, haven't done the wheels yet btw!
please tell me if these changes have helped?!

Please try to give comments about the 3th and smallest rnder, because that will be the ingame size(i think) so that's the only importent render anyway

well the first render is the biggest

the second render is as small as the old small render,

and now I also have a 3th render, i think this will be the game size of the truck, AllTaken can you tell me if that's correct !????

Can you put it on white background ? With transparency we get the grey background, it's very crappy with the antialiasing on white.

i personally think that model is cool. why not start work on the next model, and then at some point in the future, all the models can be finalised. at this stage, there's little point in making each model pixel perfect

I'd suggest doing it in several different colours for other countries and bundling one colour with each version and a grey one for countries not currently supported (red like in Great Britain, and yellow like in sweden, for example).
