another (?) cht:year bug...

Okay, i found a bug in the cheat that changes the year. I know i say i don't cheat, so let me explain a bit...

I wanted to start playing in the year 1920, so i had more time to play around (100 years ain't enough time!!!) before the high scores. So i did the cht: year 1920 cheat and it acted like i had jumped to 2049 - it did everything but do the high scores bit (which would have meant it had jumped to the year 2050).

The date was correct and all, it's just i had EVERYTHING! It was pretty crazy. So i used the cht: removeengines thing after preserving the bus, the ginzu and the chaney, and the sampson plane. That got rid of all the annoying stuff to be invented at the right time, except...

I could still build monorail and electric tracks. The electric i didn't mind, cause i figured - save money on upgrading later. But the monorail window popped up everytime i clicked on the railway button. I ditched the game and learnt my lesson

ALWAYS GO BACK TO 1930, NOT 1920!

Well, it's clearly a bug, but not a major one because we just have to remember not to go to 1920, instead fo to 1930...

So this is not a whining: "fix the bug!", it's a "i want to make you aware of the bug but it doesn't need to be fixed urgently". Maybe all that needs to happen is a note in the readme!

Well, if i go back to 1920 it acts as if i have jumped forwards - i get all the technoligy. I just wanted to make sure i covered all bases, thats why i wrote the long post.

I don't want maglevs in 1920...

I just tested what Raichase means, he's right
When you go to 1920, you get all track types
When you go to 1921, you only get normal train tracks

Just have this switch on: showfulldate on
When you use 'Cht: Year 1920'
You can see it takes you back to june 5th of 2099, then it goes to 1920

it's definitly a bug, but not a major one

I think I know why:
beacuse when you set to 1930 date go to 31th Dec 1929
but when you set to 1920 date cannot go to 31th Dec 1919, because there can't be that day ...

Thanks guys, i already have full date on but i didn't see that bit...

It's all good now, i have set up my game with TTDalter (i love that program) so that my game can play from 1930 (as in i don't get stuck with good old kirby paul until 1948...)

So all i do when i start the game is to jump back to 1930 (so that i got the kirby paul and the... erm... early invented version... of the Stainer Jubilee, so i have something to play with till the Gresly comes out

Someone smart on the newsgroups (it was Stevei D.) said that you can always use another cheat 'resetengines' and every too new vehicles will be unavabile ...
There is a Cht: RemoveEngines ..... but you can still build monorails/maglevs buildings/vans
