0.3.5 on MacOS

Post by Kyaputen Harokku »

I just installed 0.3.5 over 0.3.4 in MacOS, but 0.3.5 doesn't seem to run anymore. I start OTTD, then the mouse pointer becomes the coloured spinner, a few seconds later it becomes the arrow again and nothing happens.
When opening the "Force Quit" dialog, there is an entry "ottd" so the program seems to be running.
Installing it into a fresh folder doesn't do anything good.

The nightlies I tried before 0.3.5 was out didn't work either.

I am using a G4 iBook with OS 10.3.7.

EDIT: OK, reading the READMEs is sometimes quite good. In the "Where did the package go?" I found I had to delete some GRF files. I deleted them and now it works.
Thanks to the cheaters, Multiplayer in ottd sucks.

hehe

when I wrote that doc, I knew this would happen. You will notice that it's not even in the docs folder, but in the front one as the only one there because it's very important. It really will fail if you have outdated grf files in your data folder

btw didn't the console open? It sounds like OpenTTD was waiting for you to close it before it continued and the console actually contains the error message so you have a better idea of what went wrong

When I encountered that error, no console opened. I tried starting it from the console (by calling the full path in the package) but it gave me no error messages.
