Some error messages in German

I'm not sure if this is a Patch problem, or what.

I have an original normal Windows install of TTD, with the Patch on top of that, and I do not have this problem.

Some others that I play TTD with did a full install of TTD using the all-in-one installer, downloaded from the Downloads links. They installed TTD in English, naturally, and most everything is indeed in English, except for a few of the rarer error messages and news reports appear in German!

Any idea why this might be?

Probably from ttdpttxt.dat. Do you have a sample message that appears in german?

- The UFO-related newspaper messages appear in German.
- At least one of the GRF error messages appears in German.

I can get some others I think. Sounds like that particular installer program, installs a German Patch-messages file, no matter what. I suppose the solution would be to replace it with the one from my game, which works? I'll try that.

You can delete ttdpttxt.dat to get the built-in default messages, or else read up on mkpttxt (patch tools page and/or manual) and use that.
