[WIP]Coal Unloader Station part
I done it so small cause its supposed to come in every square, cause you can't make the train go wagon by wagon under one, so i made one thats easily multipliable. Its meant for station where ya pick-up the coal, not unload it.

I cant see anything(see a tiny bit of dark grey in a mass of black) but I love the idea. You are talking about a loader station tile right? Make it a coal. iron ore one so you can see one or the other loaded in the hopper on top. Train comes under it and it unloads into the train.
If thats not what you are talking about then think about this idea too.

Sure you can
You have to be able to make it change depending on if a train is loading. Think about how a station looks if it has something like food waiting, there's red boxes on the platform. As soon as a train arrives to pick them up they disappear off the platform. I think it would be difficult to do what you're saying, but give it a try.
In what fashion does the cargo actually appear on the platform? Is it part of the sprites for the platform or is it a seperate smaller sprite laid over the top? If its the latter then nvm on my idea. If its the former then just make a sprite with it "full" or each cargo type.
Im talkin out my butt in this cause I have no idea how they display stations. I was baseing it off of what they do for hopper cars/ flatbeds where each type of cargo is rendered as its own sprite.
If you can manage changing where the cargo appears go for it. Consider also adding grain to the hopper cargo if you can get it to work. Know im getting ahead of you but this sounds like a really neat idea.
Another thing you could consider is making 2 extra stations. A coal and iron ore. Then add it to the games for people to pick where they go. If they pick a iron ore station in a coal mine its there own fault it looks silly.

It's the latter.Jtanczos wrote:In what fashion does the cargo actually appear on the platform? Is it part of the sprites for the platform or is it a seperate smaller sprite laid over the top? If its the latter then nvm on my idea.
The thing about stations is you can only have a maximum of 8 in the game, so you don't want to get too specialised...

Wellll.... I dont know about the rest of you but I only use 2 main stations in the game as it is. Well 3 but the 3rd is on my subway when it goes topside through a few towns. So it wouldnt matter at this point. I still dont think ide hit the 8 mark. I use the darker city station. The station with the wavey top for my cargo and the one with the concrete base and the light grey top for my passengers. Som reason the dark grey does not go with the orange... at least to me.PikkaBird wrote: The thing about stations is you can only have a maximum of 8 in the game, so you don't want to get too specialised...

let me see what i can create...
as a station its only 2 pictures anywas...
argh theres way too many variables in stations:
32*57=1824 unknown name fields that just look random. +20 variables that might make sense.
This smashes my hopes of a ore+fluid specialized station.
The goods waiting in a station look the same in all stations, so I cant display a "filled unloader station".
This will neither work not look too good at the moment.
