Expansion pack

Post by wozzar »

How long do you think it will be before an Expansion pack comes out. That is if CS can be bothered to do one.

3 months

I'm not sure how well Locomotion sold though. Doesn't seem like it's a smash hit. There's not even been an article about it in my gaming magazine.

Problem is that most magazines are graphic blinded, games without good looking graphics aren't really worth a look for them. Unfortunatly that is the case for locomotion.

I would say more like 6 months before an expansion. After all it wouldn't be logical from a marketing point of view to release an expansion any sooner then that after the release of a game even if the expansion is ready long before that.

This is all so true, Doom3 is out and in a few days HL2, Locomotion is just not made for these times
All these lomo bashers want is 3d and direct x450 graphics with multiplayer camping madness
Well, back to work, lot's of it in the near future

Yeah, 6-9 months sounds right, remembering of course that an expansion rides solely on CS prodcuing one. Sales will be the key, but If CS has preplanned at least 1 expansion it may not matter.

I really think that a good expansion could get this game a good rating from reviewers, start to answer some of the community requests and improve the game overall.

Transport Giant got news of an expansion like a month after the game was released. That game needed help...

I actually laughed out loud at that comment spiff.

Seriously though, of course CS will do a expansion. And if he doesn't do it, he/Atari will get someone else to do it. Just look at both RCT games.

well yes there is the climate in normal Loco, but i doubt he'd keep it to Australia, i think his planning to add many more trains for USA climate, it feels highly incomplete..

You reckon you could go one post where you don't ask for more steamers/express your opinion on steamers/say steamers at all?

I mean, it seems everytime I read a post from you it's about steamers. It just starts getting on your nerves after a while.

Then you read the wrong magazines :)

Read Edge and PC Gamer. They will tell you when a game sucks, because it does. Theyll tell you when a games great, because it is. They wont tell you a game sucks because the graphics are crap. I mean PC Gamer still believe Xcom Terror from the Deep is a good game ;)

The US version is pretty spot-on as well. Only gaming print mag that I read.
