Trains going to Depot

Post by swiitsch »

hi,
my trains keep getting lost because they keep going to depots. Is there a way to turn off the going to depot thing. I do not want my train to go to a depot ever. not every 10 oer 100 years, but never.
I thought the option "allow goto depot order" turned off did not do that (even though it sounds like it should.
Is there already a way to do this, I am not aware of?

Change 'Default service interval for <vehicle>' to 0 / disabled, and your <vehicle>'s will never go to a depot again. Also, if you are playing with breakdowns, and would like servicing, with 'allow goto depot orders' you can add depots to the vehicle's orders. Then, the vehicle will ONLY go to that depot when it needs servicing, and only to that depot. So it will never get lost!

But that is considered as cheating, nor?

No. In the difficulty settings you can tell that vehicle's shouldn't break down. But of course if they don't, they don't need to go to the depot. You can always send them there manually ;)

I don't want to oepn another thread for this, but is there a place where all the features that openttd has, that ttd does not are listed. otherwise, I never know if a certain fetaure already exists, and I just don't know how to use it.

Like: is there a way to sell everything in a depot (like if there are 10 passenger wagons, now I have to drag and drop each one of them on the bin...)

*edit*
I saw the wiki help, but it was not relly helpful to me. Nearly everything that I wanted to learn about was not done yet.

swiitsch : I think you can only sell a "ligne" at once with a drag and drop in the dynamite (not the thrash).
(the wagons will be selled to the one you selected from the last of the ligne)

(sorry for my english^^)

Have you used TTDPatch before? Most of the features of the patch OpenTTD has. A LOT of the main features can be found by just exploring the patch menus in game....

Also the TTDPatch manual might be of help, especially about the presignalling.

Hope this helps
