You probably need to give more info about your problem if you're looking for help.

I had it twice already, normally I save, quit and restart

I think it's something to do with other running applications closing down , just a hunch, my anti virus stopped with a beep and my screen went all screwy
Well, back to work, lot's of it in the near future

I start at 800x600
When i get the problem, i just change the resulotion to 1024x768, and play
And when i get it again, i change the resulotion back to 800x600

I use 800x600 as well in Locomotion. I'll probably set it to 1024x768 if someone's able to implement a further zoom. I like to zoom right in and watch my trains and 1024x768 isn't close enough for me.

Ya 800x600 is ewww, but im getting used to it
Alt-tabbing also dosn't work
And if it happens in the game menu, i just click the two player button, it causes some kind of refresh and somehow fixes it

 Funny, I been playing at 800x600 this whole time because I hadn't noticed I could change the resolution. But as it was i found at 800x600 I was always wanting to zoom in further then it would allow and so now that I have tried it at 1024x768 and 1280x960 I'm all the more wishing there were some closer zoom levels.

screen problems

Post by Landquart »

I have the same problem. I use a Ati Radeon 9800 with the latest driver and am allways playing in screen resolution 1280x1024. After 5-15 minutes of gameplay the screen gets "blurry", all the colors change, especially lots of purple, yellow and green. When I change the resolution, I does not matter which, the colors become normal again, even if I do not accept the new setting (and continue with 1280x 1024). The annoying problem is, that I have to repeat this every 5-15 minutes. I just sent a email to Atari technical support, maybe I am lucky to receive an answer with a solution.

I would love to play in higher resolutions myself but the game just bogs down way too much on 1024 and higher and everything gets much too small.

Fix for graphic issue

Post by Coolsson »

Hi!

I had the same problem as you guys, the screen getting purple/green/yellow.... had to change resolution to get normal again.

It seems that Locomotion is extremely sensitive to other programs running in the background. For example:

I had a program called AR Tray Spy in my systray, a program that scans for gameservers. Everytime a server goes online/offline a popup comes up, Each time that popup came up Locomotion graphics crasched.

I removed the program from systray and havent had a graphic crash since.

I guess its the same thing with msn/icq that too have a similar system with popups.

Im gonna mail Atari about this and hopefully they make a patch for this awesome game that make it less sensitive to other (small) applications running in the background.

Cheers.
