XP Bug?

Hi, new here and all that.

I love this site, and I'd love nothing more than to read through this forum to look for an answer to my problems but I'm extremely short on time for the next five days or so so I've got to make this quick too.

I'm running TTDX on Win XP and I've installed the patch. I run the game with the patch file. But when I go on a random new game or on a scenario that I create I can't build any vehicles in the depots, and on existing scenarios I can build vehicles but can't open their little window to give orders etc, also I'm having difficulty making train carriages attach themselves to the trains.

Like I said, normally I wouldn't do this, but I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Your settings for TTDPatch are not set correctly

Either:

open ttdpatch.cfg in notepad and edit the "startyear 1930" line so that it says "startyear 1950" (without the quotes)

or install the DBSet or if you use the TTDPatch alpha version, try the DBSet XL
