example: in the left corner of the map are 3 coal mines. in the right corner is the power station. i let 3 trains pick up the coal and dump them at a so called transfer stations in the left corner. this transfer station does not accept coal. i let a 4th large coal pick up the coal and deliver the coal at the power station. The 4th train makes profit, the other 3 don't.
so far so good. my thought is: look at the total chain of delevery and let the 3 trains also share a part of the profit train 4 makes at the end of the chain. that would be fair, after all, train 4 could not make any profit without the other trains. is this an idea for a new patch?
no profit made by en-route delivery; new patch?

I've seen it to. It was very strange. In a nutshell...
Game 1) Had an inland powerplant. Moved coal by ship from a coastal port to a transfer point, whereapon trucks moved it inland a short distance. Everyone makes a nice profit.
Game 2) The reverse - Inland coal, coastal plant. Moved coal to port by truck. Shipped it from there to the plant. Ship makes about $900 per run.
It was roughly the same distance in both games.
Eventually I cut a canal to the coal and eliminated the trucks. Now I make massive profits. Go figure.
