Planeset [version 1.5.3 released 2006-10-24]
Moderator: Graphics Moderators
DH Comet is CC, the stripe between windows alters color.
The "A340" is A340-300, or at least I meant it to be when I did my modifications to the techlist.

OK, got it.459 wrote:DH Comet is CC, the stripe between windows alters color.
OK, got that now. So we just have to decide between Cathay Pacific and Virgin Atlantic, which gets which (-300 or -600). Both fly both, as far as I can tell. Thoughts?459 wrote:The "A340" is A340-300, or at least I meant it to be when I did my modifications to the techlist.

Well, virgin atlantic were in the press for taking express delivery of the A340-600, and with their massive party and celeb fest that Sir Branson loves so much, so I think that its a safe bet the A340-600 is VA territory.
edit: Also, I'm enjoying doing liveries so once this concorde problem is sorted out I'll no doubt turn to the next aircraft.

Wouldn't it be Sir Richard?
I've got an A340-300 in Cathay Pacific livery, but I'm not sure I agree with that selection. The modern Cathay Pacific livery is VERY bland. There's nothing to it! It's basically all white and light grey, with a V on the tail. I think it would be better to have something more colorful and readily identified. I mean, we'll all recognize United, BA, Northwest, and Pan Am easily enough; Lufthansa and Swissair shouldn't be that hard either.
How's this for colorful? I hope it doesn't give George any ideas though...

Patchman says you can change the rotors just as you can change any other livery override. It's like making passenger cars match the locos, I think. We're discussing it here:
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=185310
So, that means we stay with the helicopters and zeppelins as listed.

OK, is this new, whiter, concorde any better? If so I can convert the second livery and finish the third one.

@scottishasttdx - I like the white Concordes. I never flew in one

sorry for late answers, but i was on holiday for two days.
about yrel, xrel: 459, can you fix that in your grf? i will have no time to do some experiments like that at the moment. same for the texts for the grf file (see patchmans comment).
about liveries: everybody can feel free to change the liveries of my planes, as 459 has done for the cc connie. same problem with me: i will have no time for that the next days.
list of my planes regarding the livery:
- L-049 Lockheed Constellation: early TWA by me, cc by 459 (picture in krtaylors list still not early TWA, but Quantas!)
- Saab2000: cc by me, cc with swiss air cross by scottishasttdx (i believe), cc has to be changed into swiss air red
- CRJ100: cc by me, no airline livery done, proposal by me: independence air
- A380: cc (with fantasy logo in red) by me, virgin atlantic livery not done

goalie: Of those B planes being visible, I have the TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 31 and with my rig they seem to work as they should - they arrive in Toyland around 2060 but not anywhere else. This set is not meant for Toyland play. Is your TTDPatch certainly of the latest alpha version and you are not trying to load an existing game that wasn't started with exactly same TTDPatch or Planeset Beta version? However, I've only done the yearskipping with sign cheats. Have you played starting from year 1950 or experimented with sign cheat yearskip?
krtaylor, to avoid confusion fix that BAe146-100/Avro RJ85 to BAe 146-200/Avro RJ85 in your piclist page. Also try to get the HTML version of the DOC done ASAP 'cos I'm about to start using it exclusively since then.
Fixed DH Comet and A340 windowline shadings for face-left picture. Same has to be done for zero1000's graphics. For some reason original graphics have the more brighter side on the right with these pictures, we'll have to do all planes the same way.
New Planeset beta... just slight fixes here and there and the A340's.

I don't have the company-color version of the Connie, can someone post it? I know the photo is Quantas not TWA but the liveries are basically the same.
Here's the readme.html file. I think there are some aspects of the US-set readme that need copying, like the copyright/licensing info.

As a relatively minor request, would it be possible to see some planes/helicopters actually rendered with flashing lights on the wingtips/body? I know the palette supports flashing red and yellow lights, if I remember correctly.
-Song of Carrot Game-

Washing Them, Cut & Cut,

That's an excellent idea. The only trouble is that, as far as I know, there isn't any way to do a corresponding flashing GREEN light.
Actually, using magic-red, we could have flashing lights on the airplanes too. I think we should do that. It might be annoying though. Somebody want to try it with just one of them?

Well, lighthouses are in the game, and there is no night sequence, so obviously a compromise was made somewhere; you wouldn't normally see lighthouses on during the day either, would you?
And yes, some planes do have the lights on while on the ground at airports.
You are right though...it isn't a big deal, but I thought it might be interesting to see.
