in savegames: Cht: ResetVehicles and/or Cht: AllVehicles
in new games: check startyear switch (and change it to for example 1950)

have you tried:
- get (again) newest TTDPatch?
- delete ttdloadw.ovl ?
- delete ttdpatch.cfg ?
- reinstall TTD ?

electric trains can be build in electelectrified depots (which looks the same as normal but is in Electric railroad tab)
- you have to get newest TTDPatch
- get electrified railway graphic and extract it int o \TTD\newgrf directory
- enable in ttdpatch.cfg switch electrifiedrailways on (also to select third type of rail you need to use unifiedmaglev switch)
- put into newgrf[w].cfg line: newgrf\.......... (where ......... will be the name of the .GRF file extracted from electrified railways graphic)

I mean the ones that look like intercity trains? Im still in 1980's. I don't mean the super dooper trains with different track? Is there a seperate place to build these from?

[Update]

Ahh nm i found it, man its been a while since i played. this place is great!

Oh P.S. My friend installed this as well and he can build trains but they won't leave depot/connect to carriages. Replies would be helpful :)

Well he buys a train:
1st problem: The Train box for that train doesnt come up straight away
2nd Problem: He can't attach carriages to the train
3rd Problem: The train won't leave depot

----------------------------

He tested to see if it comes up with vehicles, planes etc and it does. Its only trains he is having problems with

Sounds like a stuck Ctrl key making multihead engines instead of regular ones.
