An Idea: Transport Tycoon Stock Market...
An Idea: Transport Tycoon Stock Market...
Yes, yes, we've all probably played Transport Tycoon a million times, and we know how to win, but how about this for a twist:
Your company is on a virtual "stock exchange" with the companies of other players. Obviously yearly earnings reports will be importnant here, as will being able to succinctly not mislead "investors" as to how your company is doing...
I dunno... I'm just tossing it out as an idea. I couldn't tell you any more details as I haven't thought about thm and don't know what the response would be.

Hmm... if this were to work, you'd need relatively strict guidelines - like, on a random map, for instance - otherwise, there's nothing to stop a multimillion pound company entering with their uber network on Flatsville.
You'll see it's all a show, keep 'em laughing as you go. Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
I had a weird dream last night about creating a new version of TTD.
It would involve you building railways, but not for yourself, for the AI. The AI would request that you built (for example) an electric 2-way line to a certain town. You would build the line, then build the depot, and then the AI would pay you to use the line you built. You would run vehicles such as track cleaners, and lone deisels which would tow broken down AI trains.
Weird huh?

Argh! Not a stock market!!!!
They have a stock market in Railroad Tycoon 2 and I hated it. I freely admit that I don't really understand the workings of the stock market and as such I never managed to finish the scenarios where you had to have the highest stock worth or whatever. I mean, how can you buy more stock when you don't actually have any 'cash' to do it with?!! (Which is how the computer player beat me.)
Well, that's my two cents on the idea... and like I said, I really only don't like it cos I don't get it.

"Romance is dead. It was acquired in hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenised, and then sold off piece by piece." People with low expectations are rarely disappointed. Not stopping East Richmond.

This wouldn't be IN the game. It would be a sort of constructively competitive game we could play HERE (You wouldn't need to add a stock market simulation to TT at all.)RangaKoo wrote:Argh! Not a stock market!!!!
