RVs won't autorenew

RVs won't autorenew
My road vehicles won't auto-renew.
I have the auto-renew parameter set to 0 (renew on age limit), and the forceautorenew setting is on also. But the trucks just keep going and going, getting older and older, and they don't get replaced even when they go to a depot.
The route-finding seems messed up too, they often can't find a depot they're sitting right in front of, which is really stupid and annoying. Don't know if it's related though.
I am NOT using the new default service interval.
I did, however, change the settings in the course of playing a game. Could that have caused it to get confused? Of course, I save and restart the game when I diddle the settings.

No, I replaced them manually, and then when those wore out, they still didn't autoreplace.

Re: RVs won't autorenew
Either that's the reason, or their model is no longer available for sale (or soon won't be). If it's that they can't find a depot, put a 'go to depot" order in their schedule and they'll find it.krtaylor wrote:The route-finding seems messed up too, they often can't find a depot they're sitting right in front of, which is really stupid and annoying. The model is still available.
Not all my RVs have depots in their orders, but some do, and even those don't replace themselves.

The model is fairly old, 1976, but it's the most recent one. I don't know when it goes "obsolete."Patchman wrote: How old is the model? If it's within five years of being obsolete, it won't be used for replacements.

I could send you the game and stats if it would help.Patchman wrote:This bug has been reported a few times already, but I've never been able to figure out why it happens and what causes it.

Nothing, just time ticked along. I think I may have the answer though.
You said something I didn't know - that you won't get your vehicles auto-replaced if they become obsolete in 5 years or less. My suspicion is either that they go obsolete rather early (I don't know when they technically do), or that it's actually not 5 years but rather 10 or something. Because, I was playing in the Tropics, where the early Long Vehicles are useless. Note that, as far as I know, the long trucks don't go obsolete. And, once I started using them, they didn't have any troubles with getting replaced. Also, some of the later default vehicles I think last longer, and they auto-replaced themselves OK too. Do you know how long the early default Tropic trucks are valid for?

So, that makes me wonder again, maybe the limit isn't 5 years, it's 15 by mistake?
