tori gates
hi everybody!
I was thinking about the idea krtaylor told me about having one of the tres being a tori gate. The idea seems good, but the problem is that trees grow on their own, and at the end you would have tori gates growing helpless all over the map, and that would look strange.
My idea is to replace the "purchause terrain for later use" sign; for I rarely use it... however let's see what people think about

The wooden arch in the foreground is a Tori.

Or perhaps a Tori bridge? (you know like the walkways under a line of Tori =])
or we could place a tori in the park building in cities.
for the trees idea, I was thinking more along the lines of a lantern http://www.roncesvallesvillage.com/gall ... ntern.html

Re: tori gates
I make big use of this, particularly early in the game. When I build a small airport I frequently purchase the land around it so I am guaranteed to have space for a large airport when it becomes available.Sanchimaru wrote: My idea is to replace the "purchause terrain for later use" sign; for I rarely use it... however let's see what people think about

This issue belongs in the Japan-set thread. When we get to it, I would certainly want that to have a torii gate. I had kind of thought that the way to do it, was to replace one of the trees with the torii gate. You find them in cities of course, but also they appear randomly in forests. So that would work as long as you didn't do a clump of them all together.

Better yet, mods, can you just stick this topic in the Japanset thread?
