Locomotions graphics good or bad?
I grpahics are great, but there is something about them which is a bit iffy.
They are highly detailed, you can even see individual chimney pots, but they seem to look like porridge? By this I mean there is no proper shading, just darks and lights in the same place and then darker lights and darks where the shadows are.
I hope Simon foster is working on this.

I think maybe the bridges would look A LOT better if the ballast filled the whole bridge not just under the rails,

Hmm... graphics look good overall, but appear too... colorless. TTD has strong colors (in a very good way)... Like, the grass is green, the roads are grey... That is one of the reasons why I like TTD so much, the colorfull style of the graphics. Skipping that with Locomotion would make me rather sad (game will become far too serious...)

I thought that would be obvious.

I know what you mean, the grass isn't green, more like white added to green, its all pale.
and THATS the reason I don't like it, before I couldn't explain it, but you have enlightened me.
Personally, I like the graphics. Yes, the shading and such needs work. Yes the bridges need a bit of work, but on the whole, I'd say it's a worthy sequel. There's a difference between looking "serious" and looking realistic. However the steep slopes add challenges, they're not completely bad.
Basically, it's a full TTD sequel, in the style of Chris Sawyer's other games (which isn't a bad thing at all). Let's wait until we see more before we pass judgement. As I said, I have faith that Chris'll bring us a quality title. In the meantime I'll keep playign TTD

if it is being built on RCT2 and contains the "landcaping" function, you should be able to change the color of the landscape. That means you can have grass with pink and purple polka-dots.
I must say they are dull but thoses screens are compressed jpg images and there's proberly an alpha effect applied to the images so people can't rip them off.
Personally, I'm sick and tired of the bridges in TTD. RCT never really had bridges but they look different and that is what I want.
I suggest you wait and see what the actual game looks like. Also think about you contrast/brightness on the monitor they effect images too.

its using an enhanced version of the RCT2 engine, its the same thing but hes adding to it. these screen shots are development not the final product, so this poll is useless until it actually comes out. there needs to be a lot of work put into it yet. the graphics might change, we dont know.
the cupcakes made me do it
Does anybody know if Chris Sawyer draws his own graphics, or does he have someone else do it?

It looks Dank
The graphics of TTD and RCT always appealed to me because they were bright and cheerful. Where as the Locomotion screens look like they were taken in a economically depressed drought affected european city on an overcast day. I like a game that is an escape. So brighten up the graphics and liven the colour and it will seem better. Decresing the detail can also improve a bitmap graphic.
But the screen shots are cluttered and out of scale. I just hope it is easier to see all the detail than in RCT2. And drop

So, he's being more realistic this time. That's OK I guess.MHTransport wrote: Where as the Locomotion screens look like they were taken in a economically depressed drought affected european city on an overcast day.
