Recommend me some animated GRFs?

Post by enthusiast »

I like it when the stations and vehicles have fun animations. I like:
  • stations where you can see the accumulating cargo
  • train wagons and other vehicles where you can see the cargo
  • vehicles with smooth rotations (only timberwolf's UK trains?)
  • vehicles with animated parts, like moving doors or sails
Please recommend me some more GRFs like this :) If you know, please also suggest what other GRFs they look and feel consistent with.

Here are some that I already know about and like or dislike:

Station sets that I like:
  • Industrial Station Renewal for the stations that fill with goods of different types
  • Ore Unloading Station for the animated crane
  • Japan Set for tiny little passengers that seem to move around the station, though it would be lovely if the passengers would go to the right platforms.
Other station sets:
  • British Station Set v0.04 (mph's unfinished set) has passengers, but they don't move so much, and the sprites for a busy station are used if the station has a large amount of waiting mail and no waiting passengers, which is not what I want.
  • Kiwitree (South Korean stations): people say this has passenger animations, but I don't see them. Same for the DPRK stations.
  • Dutch stations: these don't do anything for me.
Train sets that I like:
  • Timberwolf trains because they have smoother rotation when going around corners (Please recommend other vehicle sets with this property!) and you can see industrial cargos being added and removed in the open wagons.
  • Iron Horse trains have the standard, kinda janky rotation, but you can also see the carriages filling up with passengers and other cargo, and that's neat.
Thanks!
