Transferring cargo between vehicles

In my OpenTTD world, I have an oil rig and an oil refinery. I want to get oil from the rig to the refinery. I have set up a system where oil is taken from the rig to the shore via ship, and then from the shore to the train station via oil truck, and finally via rail to the oil refinery. Oil is being automatically transferred from the ship to the truck at the dock, but the truck isn't transferring to the train station. I'm quite new to the game so the answer might seem quite obvious, but I can't find it by searching online. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

In the truck's order, select the unload order then from the 'Unload' drop-down, select 'Transfer'.
That will cause the oil to become available for the train.
Also, make sure that the truck station & train station are actually part of the same station - clicking on a train station tile should not bring up a new window if you've got the truck station's window open. The easiest way to check is that you should have just one station label and it should have both a truck & a train icon in it.

In your case, it's key that the truck stop and train stop work as one.Make sure in the truck's order box, you hit “Transfer” when it unloads. If the stops are done right, you should see one stop name with both truck and train signs.Also, see if both stops are in the same area.If not, try to move them nearer or add a stop in between to fix the problem. This usually helps avoid basic mistakes in moving stuff.

To fix the oil not transferring from the truck to the train at the station, ensure the train station is adjacent to the truck stop and that the train’s orders include loading oil, as OpenTTD requires stations to be connected and vehicles to have proper load instructions for automatic transfers.
