Problems with previous saved games after Windows reinstall

Post by Pacee »

Dear Community!

I couldn't find any relevant topic for my problem. As you can see, I reinstalled my Windows, reinstalled my OpenTTD, backed up my previous saved game, but if I load it, I get two messages, that my game might be crash because of some grf-s. The game then loads, and in pause mode I can cruise on the map, everything seems good, but if I start the game, it crashes in about a minute. I have the error messages, I have the crash file. My questions are: is there any topic about this case I missed? Is there any quick solution(s) for the problem (unfortunately, I don't remeber what grfs and versions did I used before)? Could anybody help me about this issue?

This is a very complicated 2048×2048 scenario, with a lot of work hours, and I really miss it! :(

Very thank You All!

If you start OpenTTD from the Command Prompt, it should give you some error messages saying exactly which NewGRF's it can't find, then there's the BaNaNaS website that should be able to help you get the correct files.

Sorry for the late reply! I don't have too much time for this nowadays...

So I have the error messages and a report about the problem.

My question would be, if there is anibody, or any method to fix the issue if I upload the saved game file somewhere?

(And I don't want to keep it for myself, my policy is if anibody would like it, feel free, to play with it.)

My best guess, if the saved game loads, but crashes after a short while, then one or more of the NewGRF files used in the game is a wrong version.

You can attach the save game file directly to your post on this forum, look for the "Attachments" tab just below the text entry box for writing the post itself.

It will also be a great help if you can take screenshots (or make text copies) of any error messages or warnings that appear before/during/after loading the saved game. You can also attach screenshots on the forum post.

Thank you for your kindness!  I attached the informations and the saved game. (I set the language from hungarian to english). And as you mentioned, the case is that, the game is loading in pause mode, that works forever, but when you start it, after about 1-2 minutes it crashes because of the cargos...

OpenTTD 13.0 is quite an old release already, but most importantly it's the release we forgot to disable asserts. This is why you are seeing this assertion failure.

If you update to OpenTTD 14.1, then this crash may not occur as asserts are properly disabled. However given the errors on load, it may still misbehave anyway.
He's like, some kind of OpenTTD developer.
