In Honor of Wallyweb


Much thanks to Quast65 finding the errors in AuzHonestWallyCarsV4.

I have made the following repairs and can now release the update in AuzHonestWallyCarsV5.
The repairs were:
1. The graphics of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was wrong .. fixed
2. Move the Pink limousine up above the CC-colored one .. fixed
3. The colors behind the names of the police cars was in black and not silver like the others .. fixed
4. Also spelling mistake Police Blck & White .. fixed
5. Was a lot of naming errors in the parameter section .. fixed.
Suggestions that Quast65 asked:
1. I also think that a random colored limousine would be nice too .. added.
2. I also added another police car that available in Company Colours.
3. I really like the look of the couple of black cars that we have, maybe (if it is not too much work) it would be nice to give all the cars a Black option.
As that color doesnt exist on the (random) Company Color range .. (In the process of doing this and will be in a new upload in a day or so .. I hope).
4. The Black Porsche Carrera GT (made by Romazoon) I changed it to have random colours. I will put the black on in the next issue of this set along with the other black vehicles.

Here the new game file Version 5 and also the source. The source also has the template of the black cars I working on which will be in the next issue.

Hi could you also add an armoured truck for valuables like the ones used by Brinks

Are there also pickups or delivery vans?

See if I can find the original ones used in default vehicles. Otherwise Polroads might have a truck that I can convert.

There are some pick-ups in "AuzHonestWallyCarsV5" but just for pasengers, maybe I could copy these over in to the Bus and Truck set and they can carry freight.
Plenty delivery vans already in the Bus and Truck set. Added a few more this afternoon. In process of testing them now and if happy hope to upload tomorrow.
In this image you can see some Mercedes Vans and Mini Buses, Toyota LWB, and some old Fiat Fruit deliver trucks.

Recently about 2 days ago, a road vehicles set about 'cars' and 'buses & lorries/trucks in town' with Australian-themed (was originally made by Wallyweb, but now re-invented) has been tested for use despite not available on BaNaNas and i pair with other popular roadset like U&RaTT is recommendation over requirements. Now i'll likely don't need using other 'car-centric' NewGRF set like 'generic road vehicle set', 'eyecandy road vehicle set' and 'funny cars' if "Australian Honest Wally's Car" and "Australian Buses & Trucks Town Set" was complete.

Hope these be finished in a few days time if not sooner. You still might need some other road sets as I not be adding many big buses and trucks and definitely not adding any semi-trailers. What I add what we mainly see operating with towns and short distances.

Here the latest on the car sets.

I not be able to do any thing to these next few days due to other commitments. So I hope these all working properly.
The AuzHonestWallyCarsV5 set only has vehicles that carry passengers. There are 58 in total.

The AuzBusAndTruckTownSetV3 set has Vans, Mini Buses, a motor cycle and a bicycle.
Mini Buses carry only passengers. The Vans carry cargos that are normally delivered to house and shops with in a town.

If any problems found let me know and hope get chance Tuesday to fix.

One day I will release something without any mistakes. :oops:

I notice some cars when set to zero cost still charge a "Running Cost". Running cost should be free too.
Such as the Police Cars. But I suppose could leave it as we should pay the policemen :D .

Will be fixed in next issue.

Update to whats happening with the vehicle sets.

Will be some changers to both sets.

Quast65 is helping me sort the vehicles properly so easier to find.

Changes to expect with Wally's set:
* Adding Motor Bike and Bicycle. (also had a try making a Harley Davidson)

* Added extra taxis
* Some vehicles will have a black version, random colours version and a company colour version.
* Vehicles will be in order .. each type will be together so easier to find and know what is available.

The Bus and Truck Set:
* Will resort these too so that random colours are together and the company colours are all together.
* Adding a few more vehicles such as a Armored Vehicle.

Great! The bicycle could be introduced earlier than 1932, they have been around since the late 1800s.

Anything else for before 1950?

Good idea .. I looked in the Wikipedia and they show bicycles similar to what I have in set as early as 1885 .. so I change the year till then.
And Motorcycles similar to the one that I borrowed from Polroads as early as 1910 so I changed the date for that too.

I have some Fiat vehicles in the Bus and Truck set that was introduced in 1935.

Armored Cars I added 3. The default one from Transport Tycoon "Balogh Armored Car 1935", "Lublin33 Armored Car 1994" and a "Fiat621L Armored Car 1935"
Those dates are what shown in Transport Tycoon and the Polroad Set. I wonder for game play that the "Balogh Armored Car" being a bigger vehicle if I change the year to maybe 1960?

Probably not be till end of week before the updates be read as busy tomorrow and Wednesday with medical appointments and shopping.

If you just wait for it and don't make it, no matter how many ideas and suggestions you have, you would get nothing.

The red one side on is from Transport Tycoons default called a Uhl. It entered service in the game in the 1980s, but for the fun in our games I changed it to 1961. And increase the cargo from 15 tons to 20.

The reason I making you wait is like to finish the bus and truck set.

It was finished, but kamnet sent me a few more vehicles which I like to add. Then I will upload both sets together.

I think I should change the name to this set as there no big buses and trucks in it. I have Vans, Mini Buses and a few bikes. You don't need me to make any big trucks and buses as there are some sets out there already have those.

So wonder to ave confusion I name it "AuzMinBusAndVans".

Anyway this is what is in the set at the moment. Hope to add a few more in coming days.

May I suggest a simplification of the parameters menu?
1. Either all vehicles have zero costs or non-zero costs. I can't see a player wanting to mix and match these.
2. Either all vehicles are CC or random color. Again, i can't see a player wanting both at once.

For #2, it would cut down on a lot of clutter in the purchase list.

Sorry, I am that kind of player XD

I'm the picky type that doesn't know what they want until half way through a save. I would actually like the option to pick and chose. maybe I want some vans to be a very specific colour in a group, wile I have other eyecandy in the background. now I do agree, cutting out the company colours would reduce clutter, but maybe a parameter that lets you enable the separation? or maybe a refit option to company colours? (if thats even possible)

I agree, having both company and random colours is cluttery, but having them as an option is something i think would be a nice to have option incase there's more picky types like me out there.

Thanks for making these, these look incredible and im very excited for this weekend to download them!

I tend to say that I'm going to use both random and CC color for the vans. Application is that different branches of the same company may have different van liveries, so I'd like to rely on CC (ideally 2CC if it some time possible) for some fleet and use another one for second group of the van for another branch of my company. To reduce clutter, may it's possible to have for every vehicle two refit options: CC and random color? It will reduce the vehicle list.

Also, to reduce configuration options, I think it's better to use flag zero cost/non zero cost for all vehicles, not per vehicle model (I think if you want Toyota for free, you wouldn't mind to get Tesla for free too :D )

I agree. Id love to have some vans/busses running under my company color scheme while having random/rival company vans/busses on the road as well. Variety is everything ;)

With that being said, i love the idea! Been using the original Porshe and Generic Cars GRFs ever since i found them years ago. This will be awesome replacement!
