Tried my hand at making these so called graphics. I'm lacking in nispiration though, and this one definitely won't look good in game, and isn't to a good tt scale anyway. But if anybody has a few good pics of a particular building that they'd like to see in game, please post here and I'll have a play.
I have plenty of time on my hands until I get a job.
I like your new building enlarge it to scale, maybe put a small fountain or modern art statue out side i think it will look really good.
i think a new stadium. i know there are a couple about but i dont think they fit very well.
Amen to the get a job bit. i hate unemployment. im thinking of making a new set of signals, some mounted on gantries, maybe dwarf signals and leave some the same.
im thinking
2-way Presignal's on raised gantry
2 way normal Signals on gantry
1-way normal and presignals as standard
i just need to ask whoever made the presignals graphics permission to use them.

Not a bad idea. Just make them and then once they're made, ask for permission, otherwise you could be waiting for weeks for someone to relpy and say "yeah feel free etc"
The Presignals were done by Michael Blunck. Send a PM to SHADOWXIII asking for him to obtain permission for you to modify them, or information on how to contact MB. DON'T do it first and ask later, we just had a flamewar over that.
I lke your first building, you can fix the scale by getting rid of every other horizontal brown line - in other words, making it 3 stories instead of 6. Then add a fountain to the plaza, and voila! a good small office building.
Making early station graphics is a good idea, you might want to talk to Shadow about that too because a way to use new station graphics is in is working on a set of new station graphics, he doesn't come to this forum but he talks to Shadow so he can advise you.
SHADOWXIII is the screen name of a high-ranking member of these forums. You can look him up in the Memberlist and use the PM function to send him a private message. He is useful to you in several ways:
1. He knows Michael Blunck, who drew the signal graphics you wish to alter. Michael himself doesn't come to these boards, but, through Shadow, you can ask him for permission to alter his graphics. Don't try to do it without asking or you'll start off another flamewar, and I'd really like to see your new gantry signal graphics.
2. Michael Blunck is also doing the graphics for a new, yet-to-be-released system for selecting and changing the graphics of train stations individually. I don't know how this system works because it isn't released yet. Josef (Patchman) does because he writes the Patch. Shadow also would, and they could advise you as to how to do your station so it will be compatible with whatever they are working on.
Shadow, if you happen to see this thread, can you advise?
yeah, I meant he should work on it on his own computer, not show anyone until he has permission, and if he doesn't get it, at elast he'll have it for his own use :}
You can also make the new signals based on the original ones, so you don´t need anyone´s permission. Just in case you don´t get it...There are not many ways to make these signals and he can not have the right on all future versions of them.
@ krtaylor
Thanks for clarification, you did not mention Michael Blunck in your original post
About new stations - how it works
as I understand it it is not yet completely clear how it will work in the final version so I doubt Shadow (yes, I do know who Shadow is) can help
The last time I looked at newgrf.txt (I am quite familiar with) there was a request for comments
@ Marcel
You speak out of my heart (do not know whether it works in English) That is exactly the problem with all these tiny graphics, they can not be made completely different and I do not like actively avoiding things Michael might have done...
@ all:
Please do not rely on someone elses graphics unless totaly necessary

Wrong ^^. The original three light design was made by me. There were actually different patterns for different presignals* and no horizontal/vertical bars. Then Josef decided that the patterns were not distinguishable (sp?) enough and stuck with a green/red/green scheme and added horizontal/vertical bars.
Btw - there also was a version with flashing yellow and blue lights ^^
*they were: *** for entry presignal *** for exit presignal
and *** for combo presignal

"Anhalter Bahnhof Berlin"
Geesh, does it look like that? I mean, was it reconstructed after WWII in it's original form?
'Cause my grandmother's sister wrote (during WWII): "where once the Anhalter stood"...
Thanks for clearing that up uzurpator. Can you grant permission for your version of the signals to be used and changed? That way there's no trouble with MBs graphics.
