A good feedback makes you feel better the day :)

The current version 0.4 isn't finished,
I will change the grfid -g option to 3 parameter form:
So it will look like this: -g <Initals> <firstbyte> <secondbyte>

The second byte will be counted up automatic like before so it will work with grd/exe that include more than on file to patch...

This should make your artist life much easier ;)

Is the program capable of converting multiple files into a single grf file, or is it a one-to-one converter?

It coverts each file in a grd/exe to a extra grf file
and it can't currently merge serveral grd files to one grf...

In general you can merge grf files by your own.

Decode them

You need to copy the nfo data from an other file to your "main" file and
alter the first entry to reflect the sprite count, than encode the main file...

Ohh and change the numbering ;) (aka -1, see doc of grfcodec)

Ok, new version is out ...

Changelog 0.4:
  • added trgi map support
  • support for more than one file to convert
  • support to write to single file -1
  • GRFID -g changed: use -g <Initials> <firstbyte> <secondbyte>
The secondbyte will be counted up if it's necessary
A thing I haven't changed is GRD File can be also GRD Files.
That means you can convert serveral files at once,
and if you like to one grf file.

Version 0.4.0 has a bug, if you get a out of memory problem when you start TTDPatch it's mostly caused by a broken grf file.
(It breaks if diffs have pseudo sprite in it)

0.4.1 fixes this problem but I will not release it soon because it looks like people don't use my tool anyway...

I never got feedback too, eis_os. Exceptionally you get it when there is an error. But suggestions to imrpoe your tool or whatsoever are rare. You have to start a topic to discuss it before people help you out.

Hi Oskar.
nice tool :D
i've converted the european roadset into *.grf files :)
and others...
but i couldn't convert Urban Renew by Andrex
your tool gave me a : Unknown GRD file version 65504,
i would say it's because Urban Renew is beta 1 pre-release.
Thnx for this nice tool :)

Yes, it's generally the same with my tools - I only get feedback when there is something wrong. Sometimes I do get a message saying "well done" or whatever, but not all that much.

Yep, thats mostly so.

Ohh "Urban Renew by Andrex" can't be converted with version 0.4 because it's changeging pseudo sprites.
(Version 0.4.1 fixes this bug)

You want a file overwrite feature,
-f as force overwrite could be added...

Maybe adding a question like "Do you want to overwrite?" could be good aswell...

Hi Oskar.
yes the "Do you want to overwrite?" question would be nice.
but since i'm the only one using it *looking around if there are others using it*... you don't have to. it's only for my laziness.
thnx and greets
mike
