Anyone know of a workaround to load a 4k x 4k tile map for multiplayer? the "loading map" keeps timing out halfway through on a wired LAN.
It gets to about 9MB/18MB loaded and then says "Network - Game Connection Lost"

It sounds like you have networking issues between client and host. Check all your connected equipment.

Try to change this parameters in openttd.cfg to:

max_join_time = 32000
max_download_time = 32000
pause_on_join = true

UPDATE!!!
Opened the cfg file in Notepad.... scrolled to the lines, changed to 32000 and now can join the 4k x 4k map!!! THANK YOU
I doubt it's a network issue as the same computer is the server and the players. Only one machine in the mix.
Change code.... I guess I need to read up on game coding... ugh
