Nobody has time. Everybody fills the time which stuff he/she finds interesting or rewarding. From this, it follows that you find your grand ideas not interesting/rewarding enough.

I found that interesting comes by working on things. Even a few hours per week works. Even grand ideas are realized in small steps :)

@GarryG:
I am totally not into eye-candy objects (too much transport oriented, so to say :) ), but I find your ideas great. So fresh and renewing. I always read your threads with much pleasure :)

I really appreciate all ideas people send. Some are good and some has merit that other ideas are born from. I agree many don't have time because of other commitments such as work and family. I will have the family problem soon. My family is in Philippines I be joining them (health permitting) in July and have to share computers with my 3 kids. So I do what I can with these projects before that lovely time comes.

Hope I can encourage others readers of the forums who do have the time and haven't tried doing things such as graphics to give it a go.

Anyway enough said .. here's what I been up to today .. improving the sub-stations.

Like to give credit for those who supply ideas.
When I first started this Auz_Lineside_Objects the only ideas I had at the time was the Signal Boxes, Staff Huts and Water Towers.

Thanks to those who send in ideas, whether here in the forum, PM or by email .. it is their ideas that instigated basically the rest of the objects that's been included such as Station Buildings, CTC, Creeks and Culverts, houses, Overhead Wires and Sub-stations and for making of the Auz_Roadside_Objects and what is included in that set.

So keep the ideas coming ..

I just added some supply sprites for the Sub-stations as they need copper wires, wood, and crates of other bits and pieces.

Great idea. I like it. Yesterday downloaded the latest version of set. Managed to sort it out. how to assemble substation. Really helped your screenshot.

Have you thought about that in the future, to create objects of hydroelectric power on the river? For example, the player will be able to build a HPP, as it is now by using this set of objects we can build a substation. I also have the idea of creating solar power stations or wind turbines. So this is just my suggestions on the development set.

Like the idea of a dam. A quick thinking of the idea is how to make it as can be placed almost anywhere including flat ground and if placed in the hills they will probably have to be in the right position .. but I guess when Government built dams cost millions .. so if it will take millions in game to make room in the hills guess that be ok :) I like the idea but will take a lot of thinking.

Andythenorth in his FIRS has some graphics of wind turbines .. maybe he or who ever designed them will let me use some them as objects here :)

The designs I been getting for the sub-stations are a mixture of photos supermop sent me and visiting a sub-station near me .. I think looking at one in real gives a better idea then what photos do.

Been fiddling with the sub-station pieces again and came up with this.
Sub-station improvements.png

You might not want to build sub-station this large .. but give you an idea what can be done.

If you want to give it a try here the file .. but please not the High Towers still need adjusting which if all goes well will finish sometime over the weekend.

Also notice the fences with the grass are 1 pixel out .. they fail to line up properly with the fences with the concrete. Hope have that fixed next issue.

I added some supplies to the sub-station too .. mainly intended for just the one tile, but to show them off I used all 4.

There's a Dam-System by Quast65 "Dutch Delta Works"....
Had a look at those and I think it could be done. If I able to will make it so the dam is at the end of a Fake creek I did in Auz_Roadside_Objects and/or at the end of a river.

The creek and river go to the flood gates .. and the dam walls arrange these so have water one side and land the other side.

Have some water tiles so player can make the dam?

Quast65 been helping me with the Electrical Wires and the Footbridges .. much thanks goes to help he has provided. He redid the alignment on the High Towers and I am in the process now adding thee to Auz_Lineside_Objects. If All goes well might be ready later today.

Cheers

One change I looking at making is the fences .. rather then 2 sets one with asphalt and one with grass, I combine them so fence line runs down middle of tile and one side of fence be the asphalt and other side be grass.

After I do that will have a look at the dams ..

This is what the new security fence for the Sub-station will look like.
newSecurityFence3.png

I just made a small compound with a few low items in so can see the fence clear and the 2 dirt tiles so you can see the width of the asphalt along the fence.

Those who like to use the security fence with the grass .. it is available in Auz_Roadside_Objects in Fences section.

These fences here also look good around other Industries as they not too wide.

Dam it .. I been having a go see if can make a dam .. Here's a early sample.

Some improvements I think could be made .. Higher and wider walls.

Maybe make the walls wide enough for one or two lane fake roads can go over.

If made them for actual roads the hard part about that will be the different roads that are available .. something I can dream about tonight.

If put the electric poles next to it they dwarf the dam so going higher I think be nice too.

It all ideas at moment .. I'll look into it more over the next several days or more.

Update:
Dam improvements
Dam improvements
Damit2.png (22.49 KiB) Viewed 1961 times
I done some water and shore lines for the DAM. Need to add some more shore lines so the creeks will flow into the dam and keep it full.

I think the flood gates can be narrowed so same width as creek.

Hope tomorrow do what I mentioned before see if can make it so roads will pass over it.

Anyone want to test what I done to date here's a copy.

Long ago, one of my first art projects was trying to create a small type of hydroelectric dam. You can see them here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?t=49450

They're styled after some of the flood control dams along the Ohio River. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_l ... Ohio_River
