OpenTTD Streches Off Screen
I'm playing OpenTTD on a Windows 8.1 computer with a 1920*1080 display. I switched the game's resolution to 1920*1080. It looked fine on the main menu, but in the game, the content was stretched off. If I clicked on a town the town info would be in the top left, with most of the town info cut off. The top bar with all the icons was missing, presumably stretched off screen. Does anyone know what to do to fix this?
Re: OpenTTD Streches Off Screen
When you say you switched the game's resolution to 1920 * 1080, are you playing in windowed mode or full screen?
If you play in windowed mode, you can ignore the resolution setting, and resize the game's window to however you want (including maximized). The windows inside the game shouldn't have sections that's outside the game screen.
If you play in full screen mode, can you see if the screen resolution somehow switched to something lower than 1920 * 1080? If it did, check the graphic card driver's setting. Or don't use full screen mode. Windowed mode with the game window maximized should be close enough.

Re: OpenTTD Streches Off Screen
windows has a weird "scale old programs by fractor of X" feature, that you should disable.
Re: OpenTTD Streches Off Screen
I would appreciate it if you could tell us more of this "stretching" or scaling" or places where to find it..
This is how it worked for me. (Win8.1, 64-bit, 8GbRAM). I hope it works for you as well.
Mind you, in other languages it may be a bit different, so check the meaning of the choices...
If you can get into your game, set the wanted screen size and/or pixel-combination in your game,
even if the borders have disappeared because of the windows stretch-effect.
Quit the game.
If needed by ctrl-alt-dell... like I did.
When you are back to your desktop,
click right on the OTTD-icon on the screen (not an icon in a taskbar)
In the small menu choose "solve compatability problems"
In a small window it immediately starts " looking for a solution of the problem".
You see a moving bar and after some time you get a new small window.
Then you get two choices (without giving further information) :
1. try advised solution. Do NOT choose this one ! In my case I got a black screen and needed a hard reset to get out.
2. solve problem with this program. Choose this one.
You get another window with four 4 choices:
1 "the program worked in older versions of windows but now it cannot .... etc)
2. The program opens but not in the right aspects
3. The program needs other instructions ( something like this)
4.The problem is not in the list
Choice number 2 worked fine for me.
The compatability trick works under windows 8.1 and now also under windows 10
It even works for the 4k screen (3840x2160).
Splendid view for this great game !

Would be a great addition to the wiki!
Being a retired OpenTTD developer does not mean I know what I am doing.
