When you cling to that last steam engine...
Flartbourne Central is served by 15 trains. Two are on the New Paninghead service that comes over the bridge, and the other 13 on the legacy ChooChoo network. Here is a screenshot of the Rartown Brown Railroad Co.'s final steam engine, amid constant breakdowns, holding up all 12 of the others as it comes in for replacement by a Eurostar.

I often turn my steam trains into "Railtour" trains, doing laps of my entire network then waiting in a depot or siding for a month before starting again
adds a little eye candy to things

yeah, I play to do that as well -nostalgic tours starting from a railway museum
with several month waiting before next trip

Dedicated routes prevent impact on other trains, but there's no way to make a profit when a train breaks down every few tiles!

I also turn disused sidings into heritage tour lines instead of demolishing them, they are so popular with the people it can sometimes be hard to get a seat...

You must be the only person playing with breakdowns on!Baldy's Boss wrote:Dedicated routes prevent impact on other trains, but there's no way to make a profit when a train breaks down every few tiles!

Not at all.
I find with breakdowns enabled a much nicer challenge in making a properly functioning network.
Also, it makes engine choice much more meaningful.

Being a retired OpenTTD developer does not mean I know what I am doing.

It disturbs me that it's even possible to turn breakdowns off.audigex wrote:You must be the only person playing with breakdowns on!Baldy's Boss wrote:Dedicated routes prevent impact on other trains, but there's no way to make a profit when a train breaks down every few tiles!
What a cheat!
