I got speed problems?

I played TT when it came out and got TTDLX some time after its release. However, I just installed the patches and everything. But I cant remember the time was going that fast in the game? When I look at the menu in the beginning. The planes, trains and road vechiles goes really fast. Might be just me or is this something with my settings?

Alter the switch inside the ttdpatch.cfg file:

planespeed on

to 

planespeed off

This way the planes fly at their normal TTD speed, which in fact is a quarter of their real speed.
