there's the BRATS bus though (Baldwin Rural Area Transport System)

What is happening on line 31 and X-14? Works on the tracks?

About metro:

Line A: 9.9 Km

public transport. Well, in the place I live (size of a small town and a tourist destination but officially a village) we have one bus an hour in each direction between the nearest city, Wells (which is the size of a medium town) and the nearest bigish town of Weston-Super-Mare (which is a seaside resort and larger than the city). You can get to Wells in 45 minutes by bus, or 30 by car (unless you get stuck behind the bus). Weston-super-Mare is just over 30 minutes drive away but an hour on the bus.

To get to the nearest city of any real significance (Bristol) you can get a direct caoch twice a day (except wednesdays, when it goes to Bath) but thats no good for anyone but shoppers who want to spend no more than three hours there. There is a direct bus service but it takes about 2½ hours each way (you can drive it in about ¾ of an hour off-peak) as it goes via all the little rural villages in the Chew Valley. It also only runs a few tiems a day.

Then we have the shuttle bus (about every other hour) which conencts only with the small village on the top of the hill. It does this to link in with another service which goes all the way around teh somerset levels on its very indirect route to the dreary town of Shepton Mallet (which nobody woudl really want to go to anyway).

There used to be a station but that was closed along with the entire line in the 60s (thankyou Dr Beeching). So now our closest station is an hours bus journey or 25 minutes drive away (different stations).

- the 2 hourly link to Bristol via the chew valley comes under a different regional grouping I think. and the shoppers coach to Bristol/Bath is run by a different company.

yes, many of you will recognise the place names from the TTD scenario!

Yes, whenever I take the bus, it makes a stop at Syracuse. The only time I got out on the bus terminal place at Syracuse was to buy some PEPSI and those peanut butter crackers.

No, we had snow for a brief period in mid-October, but right now it's only cloudy and not very cold (+10 °C).
