trains.im

Post by JamieLei »

Just came across this. I know it's old but I wasn't aware of it which means some others might not have been either.

Since train data is now publicly available, one man (Ian Shortman) has converted it into an easy-to-use website. You can see headcodes, if the train is Driver Only Operated, and also the passing times of junctions, non-stop stations, etc. In short, it's a public version of the old internal system.

Try it out!

The 'opening' of rail data is a fantastic step forward for transport info, and should allow even more of this sort of brilliant innovation.

Nice site!

One could also use http://traintimes.im/, created by a former (well, current but inactive) forum member here.
