[UNIV] Snow Aware Arctic Buildings v1.0

Post by PaulC »

Snow Aware Arctic Buildings is a recoding of the default buildings for arctic climate to make them properly snow-aware and thus compatible with variable snow lines. No other changes have been made so they should otherwise look and behave no differently. Since this grf is just code and does not use any new graphics it should work just as well with original TTD or OGFX graphic sets.

Known issues:
  • No lift animation for the large office block
  • No snow graphics for those buildings that don't already have them (statue, fountain, capsule building, shops & offices, modern stadium, tube building)

I suggest to add a few explicit action14 information about parameters and palettes:

Code: Select all

-1 * 0 14 "C" "INFO"
  "B" "VERS" \w4 \d1
  "B" "NPAR" \w1 00
  "B" "PALS" \w1 "A"

Probably a stupid question but here it goes anyway: is it compatible with TTRS or North American buildings, Swedish Houses etc.?

I hope filling a post with nothing but quotes doesn't qualify as spam here

One could always argue that some modern stadiums are equipped with underground heating of the field or workers cover the field with special sheets to protect the grass from the snow...

Some of the custom industries using parts of improved ingame pieces provided by Town and Industry wont get snow on them using this. But i assume thats normal as they have changed the pieces and this checks only for stock parts.
