Anywhere to post heightmaps?

Post by NekoMaster »

Just curious if theres anywhere I can post heighmaps I made on the forums here.

Most of my heighmaps are flat-ish (sometimes I add noise and blur the map to give some roughness) and where made with SimCity 4 in mind, but easily converted to work with OpenTTD.

I just finished making a flat heightmap based on an idea I had after a random chat with a youtube commenter. It comprises most of Southern Ontario, the North East States, and Nova Scotia, loosely traced from Google maps to create a fictional map I call the "Empire States". The idea was what if they made a Grand Theft Auto on a larger scale allowing you to play in many of the major cities of Central and Eastern North America (Including Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, Sydney, NYC, Providence, Boston, Baltimore, NJ City, Washington DC, Phelidelphia, Trenton, etc)

I didn't see a place to post them there so I thought that it was only for Scenarios and game saves.

I'd qualify a heightmap as a Scenario. Or proto-scenario, maybe .

I wonder what you'd call a flat map (a flat height map)? Sometimes I just want a simple flat map to play on with water features like rivers and oceans to cross, but I don't always want mountains and hills to climb and build around.

You'd call it a heightmap for the sub-tropical climate.

I've taken that one step further. Create a sub-tropic map in scenario editor, save the map as height map, then load the heightmap in whatever climate I want.
