ok version 1 is done.. hope you like it.. here's the TAR (replaces steelmill sprites, only 4x zoom images so you need the extra zoom patch)

Do you have a non extra-zoom version, or does this need a redraw, something we dont need?
Just asking, because i normaly play with a 32bpp, non extra zoom.

I think the windows need some more depth. In extra zoom they are so so but in other views they look flat.

I just added it to my game folder and it looks good.

Indeed there's no need for company colors (I wonder why I see one with red bands while I'm the (only) blue player though).
I do agree on the grass between the tiles. It isn't one whole now.

From closeup (z0) it looks good. But when I'm at z2 (and especially further out) it stands out compared to the other graphics;
the colors are 'lighter' than what everything else is. I don't know whether there's a new direction for 32bpp graphics. but this just seems a bit too light.

Company colors on industries are used to add some...errr... colour to the game, not to indicate that industry belongs to any one player.

See original TTD factories' roofs for example.

You'd like the possibility to acquire industries?

Perhaps it could be a configurable patch...

In rail road tycoon 2 and 3 industries could be bought, but did not limit who could transport them. If they where sufficiently transported the industrys' owner would see the profits.

This has been proposed, discussed and rejected by the devs several times and, above all, does not belong in this thread.

Thanks!

But I have a question...

Which creative commons license is?

I suggest You to use CC BY-SA (or GPL). It can be used on the project, and doesn't allow usage in projects with privative licenses.

Me too, as CC BY-SA isn't GPL-compatible. And as a result it will be unlikely that the graphics will end up in a full replacement set (and certainly not in the replacement set).

Ah, jeez, I'm really not particularly concerned, I just want it put to it's maximum use. If GPLv2 is better, I don't mind that. Or what about a BSD licence? All this stuff is over my head.

Modified BSD or FreeBSD could work.

For maximum usage you can consider public domain in the form of CC-0.

If you just want credit, you can consider the X11 license (often referred to as the MIT license).

See here for a list of GPL compatible licenses if you're interested: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-lis ... leLicenses
