you were right, the construction beta was conflicting
strangeg behavior because we put them on another game and it still work fine.
anyway, thanks

Hi again,
still have a small issue
I'm using these ECS with parameter so no industries are build during the game
4D656F91|945EFBE06B03EC2AC3598EA578B969C0|ECSTown.grf = 0 0 0 30 0
4D656F9F|357601291B0DD95B8FEF49A6A7A7F9DE|ECSBas2.grf = 30
4D656F9C|833CD4C1C7E2C0E9AABA35FCE7B6A9BB|ECSChem2.grf = 30
4D656F97|B73EA6BCD8DCAE4151EEC0C93DBF3073|ECSAgri.grf = 30
4D656F94|003905A6734B7395F2A60A977F0DD887|ECSMach.grf = 30
4D656F95|6F5472D7F2F3F9236AAFE7A81DF9AE84|ECSWood.grf = 30
4D656F9D|7C6864163BB6CC6178EBDC5550F1C622|ECSHouse.grf = 15
But, for a reason a can't explain, some construction industries (brick Works, plastic plants, aluminium plants, cement works) are still building automaticaly during a game
others industries do not appear, only those
Why ?

No one ?
Is it a bug ? a mistake in parameters ?

Assuming it's not something in ECS, you could try some ideas at this topic: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82680

Re: Do you have problems with ECS vectors? Look here!
I think it is something in the ECS
Maybe some old code when the construction vector beta was included in the machinery vector ?
because with the others Ecs i don't have this problem of industries appearing during the game
only with the one which were in the construction beta
Tried on several map size, the problem is the same.

So... I looked into this: https://bundles.openttdcoop.org/ecs/nightlies/
and downloaded the grf from there... but it doesn't do anything.. it defines cargoes but doesn't build any industries. Are those working nightlies or are those just testversions?
Is there ANY version of ECS 1.2 that combines all vectors into one GRF file?

Re: Do you have problems with ECS vectors? Look here!
Nightlies are by definition development versions. If there are releases, you would find them under "releases".
However, as far as I know, there is no new ECS version released. I don't think that a combined newgrf exists either, afaik it was a design decision to split it into several grfs, so you can have only some of the industries

Well there is no releases. And I was just wondering why the grfs in the nightlies don't do anything.
Re: Do you have problems with ECS vectors? Look here!
They're not finished yet
As you can read elsewhere in this thread, I think, development is very slow.

My aluminium plant only accepts coal, while it should only want bauxite.
anyone has a fix for this or what causes this? i only have the ecs gfx active.

It also says that it produces steel when it should be producing aluminum.
Just curious... did you happen to change or update NewGRFs in the middle of an active game?

Re: Do you have problems with ECS vectors? Look here!
I have an issue with the Vehicle Factory from ECS machinery vector.
It is impossible to "satisfy" it's material needs. I think the production rate per production line is set way too high.
Maybe the usage of steel per vehicle is also set too high.
This is not a big issue in vanilla OpenTTD, bit with JGRPP it causes the vehicle factory to close quickly.
If you run the attached save for a while, you'll see that the production level stays very low (lines toggles between 0 and 1).

It was not intended to have so little iron ore mines per steel mill, nor steel mill per vehicles factory.Aydan wrote: ↑11 Feb 2023 13:42 I have an issue with the Vehicle Factory from ECS machinery vector.

According to https://www.tt-wiki.net/wiki/ECS_Machinery_Vector
Iron ore mine produces up to 1350 tons of iron ore per month (100% level with vehicles), while still mill can process up to 5752 tons of iron ore. This means it was intended to have in average 4 iron ore mines per steel mill
As for steel mills and vehicle factories, the factory can process up to 1620 tons of steel, producing up to 900 vehicles.
So, if you want to fill a vehicles factory with enough work, you have to have a 100% production at your mines. If you have a 12% production level at your mines, than you should have 8 times more mines.
Re: Do you have problems with ECS vectors? Look here!
The issue I'm having is that with JGRPP it is really hard to even keep a vehicle factory open (without setting GRF options)
I do not think this is intended (or "realistic") behaviour.
It should be possible to ramp up production, without having to max out the industry immediately.
I never see the number of lines above 1 in my games. Maybe the production jumps up too quickly with intermittent raw material supply.
looking at the increase/decrease table the step from very low to low seems a bit steep.
Also the increase of very low and decrease of low level are the same value which will lead to toggling. the higher level have a bigger gap
I'd suggest having decrease levels 20 100 300 1000 2000 and increase levels 300 1000 2000 4000 instead to smooth things out in the low production range.
Or at lease change the increase for very low from 216 to e.g. 432 or reduce the decrease of low to e.g. 108

Well, ECS 1.2 would not be updated, and ECS 2.0 was not started yet. I hope ECS 2.0 would be more customizable.Aydan wrote: ↑11 Feb 2023 16:36 The issue I'm having is that with JGRPP it is really hard to even keep a vehicle factory open (without setting GRF options)

It would be quite enough for me if the ban on closing down industry didn't ban generation as well.

Can you post an updated list of all the industry and their needs to avoid the "no suitable places" error?

Not really ...
What japerson (and me) like to know are the rules for placing industries, especially in the scenario editor.japerson34 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2023 14:34 Can you post an updated list of all the industry and their needs to avoid the "no suitable places" error?
Rules like :
. Above or Below Snowline.
. How far from the coast/waterways.
. How far away from other industries.
. How flat the terrain has to be.
. How close to cities.
etc
All industry GRFs that have rules for placement have this problem; there is just no information available, it is a 'trial and error' situation.
