Well clearly something has hijacked your browser somehow, as only you seem to be affected. Weird though

I just did a Full scan and a boot time scan and nothing changed. Nothing was picked up by AVAST even in the boot time scan.SquireJames wrote:Well clearly something has hijacked your browser somehow, as only you seem to be affected. Weird though

Dump your browser cache? Could be that your cache is corrupted or something like that, and it is pulling a wrong image from there?

Check your HOSTS file to see if it's been hijacked. I'd also suggest running HijackThis and posting your results to a discussion thread.

Here's a beta version of my NARS2 All Climate Patch.
I still need to figure out how to sort the new RF16 and Centennial, so their engineIDs fall in line with the stock NARS2 stuff.
Here's a A-B-B-A Sharknose consist leading a DD40AX through the desert landscape, proving that yes, this has been fixed.
Here's the GRF file:
Here's a zipped up NML source file:
Current bugs:
I need to figure out how to say "hey, you can't add any more Sharknoses!" past the A-B-B-A consist; because you get weird graphics bugs that way.
Also, apparently Baldwin used...pneumatic air systems for their Multiple unit control system, making them incompatible with EMDs or Alcos, and possibly setting a maximum limit of how many Baldwin Diesels could be controlled by a single crew, due to air pressure drop over long distances.
Things to do:
Figure out way to implement the four liveries available for RF16s:
D&H 'Warbonnet' Livery
PRR 'Pinstripe' Livery
Livery A
Livery B

Re: NARS2 - the North American Renewal Set [2.03 28 Aug 09]
I think there is another bug:
Side note: I already tried the Patch with HEQS with its rail vehicle activated and there were no further issues exept the "eaten steamers / DD40AX issue".
I hope this helps you to further develop your great patch.
There are some steam locomotives missing, such as the Santa Fe, the Mikado and the Pacific type, while the DD40AX shows up twice - one as a fully operable diesel, one as a, well say, funny but powerless steam engine declassed as a car. The later seems to be the placeholder, that can be purchased and moved around in de depot. The placeholder does not show up on the route when coupled to a train.
The vehicle lists were created by using NARS, and NARS with your patch applied, respectively. Parameters for NARS were 5 3 1 5 5 1 in both cases.Side note: I already tried the Patch with HEQS with its rail vehicle activated and there were no further issues exept the "eaten steamers / DD40AX issue".
I hope this helps you to further develop your great patch.

What platform are you using?
I'm having no problems with the Centennial with Open TTD 1.3.0 final release.

If you wanted to be completely historically accurate, there were also several incompatible electric MU systems early on. I think F-M units would not MU with some other builds besides obviously Baldwins. I think there were adapters for some different systems though.MarkSheppard wrote:Here's a beta version of my NARS2 All Climate Patch.

I am using OpenTTD 1.3.0 final release, too, on an Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit machine. There are no other NewGRFs exept your patch loaded.MarkSheppard wrote:What platform are you using?

EDIT: I just killed and reinstalled OpenTTD 1.3.0 to assure a vanilla, patchpack-remnant-free environment. The results are the same: the DD40AX is still bugged.

I just installed OTTD 1.3.0 Windows-64 in a new folder, downloaded NARS2.03 from BANANAS; put my patch into \data; set NARS2.03 to 5 3 1 5 5 1; and I'm still not seeing any problems.Ogre wrote:I am using OpenTTD 1.3.0 final release, too, on an Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit machine. It might be a problem unique to the Linux version; but I'll try changing around how the invisible articulated part is done for the DD40AX to see if that fixes it.

Found and fixed the problem with Santa Fe, the Mikado and the Pacific.
Looking into the DD40AX problem now.
EDIT: Just located it. I had the same problem too in my build -- the 'fake' articulated part showed up at the very end of the vehicle purchase list -- way past the NARS2 Caboose -- I never scrolled all the way down to check it out, so I never noticed it before.
What's odd is that it shows up despite me setting:
for the part.
I changed the date of entry to
And it seems to have fixed the problem for normal play. You'll get the problem if you continue gameplay to 2090 however, lol.
EDIT:
Got the 'new' locomotives sorted to where they were in NARS2.03 via the following code:

Set the introduction year to 5000000 and no one will have any problems

Here's the latest beta:
and the source. There's a lot of commented out stuff because I'm not quite sure how to implement livery switching for the RF16, it's easy to do livery switching if it's a single engine, not so when you have to handle A/B unit sprite switching as well.

Thank you for your update. There seem to be no problems anymore (as far as I can tell after playing around with nearly all diesels for about half an hour). *thumbs up*
It even works nearly flawlessly with jmodule's NARS Engine Flip Patch, except for the added Sharknose and the DD40AX.

"NO_CLIMATE" is already a bitvalue, you should not "bitmask()" it.MarkSheppard wrote:What's odd is that it shows up despite me setting:

Knocked together some quick Viewliner sprites using the NARS2 Amfleets as a basis and some guidance from Lifeblood's Viewliners that are in the American Transition (US Set).
Reason I did the hypothetical coach, was because at one point, Amtrak wanted to buy 500+ of them to completely replace all the Heritage equipment / Amfleet stuff on the Eastern routes. That plan never materialized fully.

Le Gasp, some life!!!!
Can't wait to try out the stuff MarkSheppard did. I can't code, but can draw.
I wonder if anyone could get a multiplayer server going with the grfs MarkSheppard did? Well that and the Nars flipper, ECS & ISR, and the North American grfs (signals, buildings, stations, roads, etc), TBRS Nars, and some other things.
There used to be one that I liked, but I can't find it anymore. IIRC it was like Alton or Alfton or something like that.

Re: NARS2 - the North American Renewal Set [2.03 28 Aug 09]
Any chance of a Union Pacific M10000 streamliner from you in 1CC blue livery?
The final update I'll do to the all-climates grf before I upload it to BANANAS will be reimplementing the SW1200 and the GM Aerotrain -- currently with NARS2, if you add passenger cars to a SW1200 engine within a specific date range IIRC 1956 -- it turns into the GM Aerotrain; a very ingenious way of handling pre OTTD vehicleID limitations.
Past that, I'll start implementing a lot of the stuff that you did -- particularly the electrics!
