Won't launch on Mac, gatekeeper blocks OpenTTD app

Seems like the OpenTTD application on mac is not certified to a developer, which makes the build in gatekeeper to block it. Any plans to fix it?

We cannot, Apply Apple does not allow GNU licensed software on their app store.

It appears to me that the solution is to change the security settings for Gatekeeper. Apple has instructions for "How to open an app from a unidentified developer and exempt it from Gatekeeper" here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290

In addition, I doubt that the developers are going to pay Apple for the privilege of being able to create a developer ID and download the software which generates the security certificates that makes them an "identified developer".
