I'm attempting to try it out, but I'm getting an "invalid chunk size" error

You'll need version Spring 2013 Patch Pack version 2.1.143. Newer versions broke savegame and scenario compatibility, unfortunately.

Ok, thank you! Looking forward to this. Also, I have a question as to how to deal with slower production/loading times on larger trains, when using an extended daylength. If I adjust the ticks per day, will that help my situation? Currently I have my day length factor set to 51 (I like 1940-1970 the most), so my trains load extremely slowly.

I guess I'm looking for a way to increase production/loading rates, without decreasing the daylength factor.

Honestly, I don't know. I think I played this with a daylength factor of 10. Beyond that things got weird for me.

Good to know, thanks kamnet. Tbh, I haven't touched ttd since last fall, but I found this scenario and it's given me a renewed spirit! just got all my grfs loaded in, so I'll be sure to update you to my progress. Also, I found one let's play you made of the scenario. Are there any more?

I have two others, but unfortunately YouTube has wrongfully flagged my videos for copyright infringement due Warner Music Group (WMG), AdRev and IODA claims, so they're currently tied up while my appeals are processing.

I noticed in your let's play video that you started on a v1b version of the scenario. I also noticed that the rivers were wider in your video (by Millville) than in my version, where they are only 1-tile wide. Did you create them manually or is this a patchpack setting?

Also, any chance you'd be willing to upload your most recent version of this? I've been messing about with a few different ideas on this map, but regardless it just seems like so much fun :) but given that it's been almost a year, I figured you may have tinkered with it since the OP.

After I released the scenario I played a game myself and made improvements. I don't have it available as a scenario file and where I've mucked with changes in newGRFs it's not guaranteed to be a viable savegame anyhow.

Based on the positive (albeit limited) feedback from this scenario, I'm working on some new ones that will be playable in OpenTTD 1.5.0. The premise will be the same, starting in 1850 with only primary industries and mostly small towns with only a few larger ones to work from. One thing I am focusing on more this time around is building a series of navigable rivers to give players another low-cost method of transportation.

I don't have access to my install right now, but it's pretty close to "all of them". I think I just about hit the limit for the patch pack.

Would you kindly share these grfs? Can't google them and lost my local copies when tried to update OTTD:
Russian Tram Set
Russian Trams v0.0.1
By the way, I see that you use Russian Train & Tram Set. It's pretty outdated by now, why not consider xUSSR latest version? It worked fine for me and is pretty stable and robust (except some gaps in wagon production times since it's a WIP).

I likely downloaded them from the TTD Russia forums. Unfortunately I don't have permission to share them. Does xUSSR have trams? That's mostly what I had them loaded for, but since I now have 2CC Trams available I'll probably ditch all the other tram sets I use.

I came here from TTD Russia forum, in fact :) I managed to find the Russian Tram Set, but still struggle with Russian Trams v0.0.1. Seems to be not available on the web anymore. That's why I asked you for it.

xUSSR set doesn't include trams by now.

From what few records I have, I believe that it was posted by Vitya, somewhere around August 12, 2010 and the file name is rtramw.grf.

It might also be posted somewhere in this topic: http://forums.ttdrussia.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2435

This scenario has now been updated for play in JGR's Patch Pack, and now has a dedicated topic exclusively for it: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 9#p1159359
