OpenTTD NewGRF Competition - January/February 2022

Thanks to the Polroads set I been fiddling with the horse drawn vehicles and the cargos in the CHIP set been having a go making some of my own wagons as objects.

This result so far.

Hi Erato,

If we not get any more entries before the years out, I like to suggest anyone who has a idea for new items for the game to let us know and maybe that they be our next project for the competition.

I worked last hours on pyramid (3x3) and honestly, I don't like it. I can do few small changes, but I spent last days in bed with my health problems, so I'm not able to do anything more I can put this one into grf file, but it can't compete with anything. So maybe nw theme sounds good. sorry 4 that Go to the bed, let me know, if there's any sense to publish this one.

It seems we have no 3rd entry. It seems the animo for the competition is a but low. Like Garry said, I'd love to hear suggestions for a new theme, but I'm not sure if a new theme would solve the issue, but I don't know what else would improve participation.

Suggestion ..

Those who enter and don't enter the competition .. welcome to add suggestions what they would like next competition to be of.

If get several ideas, then who ever wins the competition can choose one of those suggestions for the next comp.

Not sure if here's someone who can code (and learn us) MAIN HQ BUILDING, but I think it could be nice theme. There are limited grfs and drawing 2x2 building would be interesting for newcomers.

The sixth theme is Headquarters (HQ), courtesy of Fridaemon.
In the game each company can have an HQ, which changes as the company gets more advanced. Feel free to make any building you'd like.

The HQ is a 2x2 building, with 5 varieties.
The levels occupy these sprites which you can replace with your own sprites:

A change in the rules: Anyone may now suggest a theme, contestant or not. The winner will select a theme from all the suggestions.

For future contests, I recommend recreating famous train stations around the world.

That good idea .. but not necessary famous train Stations around the world but major station in your country. Reason I mention that is where I from there are a lot of stations well known for us but not necessary the world. Your country would be the same. So maybe Stations from major cities from around the world.

You're allowed to publish the NewGRF for your entry at any time, outside of the competition, but you're not allowed to submit a NewGRF that has been made before the start of the competition.

I have an HQ GRF that is a work in progress and has never been released. I have no thoughts of creating another HQ GRF.
Perhaps others may have similar situations and are hesitant to submit to the contest.
How about changing the word "made" to "released"?
It might attract more participants.

Maybe have it so they include a Head Quarters in there scenario. They can use come already available, make new ones or even design or use a object building to represent a HQ.

Been fiddling with wagons to go with the old stuff.

The horses from Polroads, the cargo in the wagons from CHIPS. The wagons my doing with help from those in Polroads.
There are 6 wagons .. empty, crates, fruit, timber, milk (liquids), and covered wagons.

I made set of roads that can be found with the wagons. These will join other roads.

There is also another set of wagon objects that I stole from Polroads included.
