Drifting.
Is this a random scenario with northeast names, or a map of the northeast of england. If so, could you please post the scenario file. As i live up north and would love to play this.
Ill hopefully be posting some pictures from my new game.
First some background info:
The Harzberg Kulmheim Bahnen, or HKB, was inaugurated in 1985 by James Vassie (me!) The HQ was setup at a large town that was to be situated along that line, Nienfeld. This town would soon grow as its transport network gre, soon not just having the mainline, but a suburban line to the town of Stralsfurt in the north. The track is elevayed and is operated by BR 420's operating in 6 car sets. Anyhow, after the grand opening of the mainline in 1988, after 3 years hard planning and construction, 4 BR 120's were built at a far-away BBC/Henschel/Krupp depot. After their transportation here along with mainline coaches and mail vans complete in their red IC livery seen between 1987 and 1995. These were to operate IC services between the two towns, stopping only at a couple of towns.
A few years later, after the booming success of the IC service, the company purchased 4 BR 103's in orient red, to operate the blue and white IR service also on the South Coast route, stopping at several more smaller towns.
Only 1/2 a year later, the company purchased 8 BR 420, 9 car sets, that operate the all-stop service between Harzberg and Kulmheim.
The date is now early August 1992, the company owns 43 trains and 7 buses. The high total of trains is due to the newly setup wood transporting freight line that transports wood straight from the dedicated wood terminal at the Foresty town of Harzberg, alongside the mainline until just after the town of Falkendorf, where it branches off to the north and trundles up towards Waldhorst Sawmill, where the wood is used to make fabulous furniture.
The future plans for HKB are to start a goods service from the Sawmill to the town of Neu Hammünster who are in need of furniture. The station at Nienfeld is over-due for a re-design and hopefully this will be achieved.
I hope you enjoyed the info, i will hopefully post some pictures of it afer i get back from hols.
I like the big city the most. It's cute seeing those buses. Don't forget to build mail vans (I couldn't find any) because mail makes more money than passengers.
The networks (Coppercat's and tofluss') also look impressive, although slightly unrealistic because of their huge sizes (the city station is as long as the city!) and the large amount of flatland.
I also got some screenshots (from the save game where I get most of my screenshots from...I just can't fill that map up! ).

Instead of just flattening half the map, I just make my paths straight with tunnels. These gold trains pull in almost £1.5 million a year.

A nice, secluded coastal area. My naval department is hardly 5 years old. It's just...there's nothing spectacular about ships.

Check out those bridges! I've always loved winter landscapes. Those towns will grow big in no time (buses, copters and trains are servicing them).

Yeah.. I know.. but I just love it that way if I wanted a realistic network, I would buy my self one of those non-computer game train networks you could build in your attick at home
The fact that you CAN build HUUUGE networks, and just go completly over the line, is quite amusing actually

That's what I also like: just building mass networks to see how much I will be able to transport at max. In that map with the +100000 city, every train had 40 passenger cars, and went from one corner of the map to somewhere in the middle (size 2048*2048)...

Yea I totally agree! building A LOT of trains, and see if the network can take it hehe
I just love large maps .. how'd you get that city to that size? .. press expand A LOT of times in the scenario editor?

Actually, I did not use the editor for that map. Just put some bus-stops around the city and where you want it to expand, put the roads yourself and wait 70 years (gameyears ) Airports also help A LOT. If you really want the map: http://users.skynet.be/klaasdc/openttd/BigMap2014.sav It is still a "clean" version of the map, just with very big cities, ready to be exploited
