Re: Editing old posts prohibited
It is a bit of a dig up, but I just read the new forum rules, and I suddenly had an idea (might not be possible or unwanted because of the extra work, but with not stating the idea we would never know that): Allow users to edit their posts even after the week, but let the edit be approved by a moderator/administrator. Then you can change your post to what you want, but someone has to look at it before it is really changed.

Which might result in people not being able to post whatever they want after all. It's making a promise you know you can't keep in advantage.Transportman wrote:[...]Then you can change your post to what you want, but someone has to look at it before it is really changed.

That has been suggested before, but technically would be somewhat of a pain to implement.

Not to mention the immense extra work for mods...

Not that big a deal I guess, I don't think that may people go back to edit their really old posts. It would only represent a small amount of extra work IMHO.
I am little, ugly, and nasty. How do you do?
Re: Editing old posts prohibited
Is it possible to allow changing not only first post but all second/third one? I just discovered that I am not allowed to modify my gallery - http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=857657#p857657

Re: Editing old posts prohibited
I'd prefer to leave it as just the first post, it's easier technically, and for almost all purposes is more than enough. In cases like yours you'll probably have to ask a moderator if they could edit your post for you, if you need to. Sorry for the inconvenience.
