So if you aren't continually increasing spending then you mustn't be a socialist? Don't be an idiot, government spending being adjusted to balance the books doesn't suddenly lurch the country into some kind free for all where pensioners are left to die on the street.

Edit: Nazis = National Socialists. So no, he wasn't a communist.

How is that relevant? Your argument is that people can't be socialist because they are reducing spending, which is a load of rubbish. Just because you are socialist doesn't remove your ability to impose spending cuts.

Really, wow I didn't know that! :roll:

The clue is in the name - National SOCIALIST. Yes Hitler and Mussolini were maniacs running totalitarian regimes where they thought that killing Jews would make them win the war - that is the national part, but the socialist part is their economic policies, which were most definitely not right wing. Political compass does this in quite a good way - economic policies are done on a left-right basis with the social policies being done on a authoritativeness-liberty basis. The Nazis would be on the left, but also authoritarian.
