Wranston & Central 1963 part 1
(Edit: hooray! Page four!)
1- The southwestern line ends at the peaceful town of Tenway. Visitors to the town can enjoy all that the pristine waters that border this town have to offer. Right now the DMU that is seen here is the only train to Tenway as there isn't much incentive to add any more.
2- Another busy day at Lewischester Falls station, this turns out to be the busiest area for Wranston and & Central, although the company doesn't really keep itself limited to the central region and Wranston anymore. Passengers can now get just about anywhere in the region using Wranston & Central's lines. (Even to Tenway, with a few train changes: Express from Lewischester Falls to Wranston, Express from Wranston to Feadton, and local the goes from Feadton to Tenway stopping at all towns in between.)
3- Wranston & Central finally threw in the towel on doubling the eastern freight line, after plans had been drawn up 15 years ago to double the line to the steel mill; it wasn't approved until it became extremely obvious that three passing loops couldn't handle the train volume.

Wranston & Central 1963 part 2
1- Map map map! There's some wild trackwork in the southwest, but it's what it took to build a single line connecting all the towns; Tenway didn't fit here, but it's to the west a bit. There hasn't been much change or addition in trackwork because the comapny is very busy with replacing steam trains with diesel.

Re: [OTTD] Christopher's Screenshots
I was pretty satisfied with the results of Wranston & Central, and I'm going to start a new game some time in the near future. For those of you who wish to see parts I didn't have as a screenshot, here's a savegame. Also, a NewGRF list so you can get the full experience, all NewGRFs not on bananas can be found on GRFcrawler or with a few searches. Oh yeah, it's made with r21628, not sure if that matters though.
One last screenshot:
Bealeigh station in its final form; old wooden platforms were renovated with solid concrete, fences, and a overpass to allow easy moving from platform to platform. Designed to handle four trains at a time coming from any direction.

Re: [OTTD] Christopher's Screenshots
Hard drive failure, so my two most recent games are lost forever, which is a shame because I thought they were some of my best work so far. In this game I'm trying out raod and rail cooperation.

Re: [OTTD] Christopher's Screenshots
Thank you very much! I haven't been able to play as much as I would like; school's been a real kicker this semester. The strange thing is that the less I get to play, the more I end up moving toward my goal of realistic rail, and now I'm incorporating other forms of transportation.

- Although the oil well that supplied oil to the trucks has been exhausted, other sources were found to keep the refinery going, even stronger than before.

Re: [OTTD] Christopher's Screenshots
Thanks! That does seem to be the pattern of progress!
I think I've tamed the current game, so I've started a new one and posted a map below, and a screenshot from the new game, which is 512 x 512, so it will take me much longer to connect all the towns and whatnot.
(Edit: Added a map, I'll try to make a real one soon!)

- A nice early-ish start game...Pudingbury Railways and Associates (PRyA) was started in 1890 with freight lines under the name of Associated Cargo. The Pudingbury Railway was started in 1891 with the creation of a steam tram line in Pudingbury. Pudingbury Streetcar corporation got a 150.000 pound loan to start in the railway business, connecting three towns: Groburgh, Pudingbury, and Teford and changing its name to Pudingbury Railway. Neither railway company was doing very well, so they both decided to combine their assets into Pudingbury Railways and Associates. Recently, in 1893, a new railway has been started: Smith Logging.

- A new company was started in 1895 on the far western side of the land. Called Western Rail Company (WRCo,) their main station is in the coastal city of Windsay. In the picture are the only two trains the company owns so far: two ten-wheelers. Clearly they are the same color and PRyA, because technically I'm controlling both...so I've numbered trains to avoid confusion.

- Smith Logging had acquired enough profits from its line from the forest to the sawmill in 1895 to start transporting the wood products from said sawmill to the construction industry in Whitborough. Smith Logging has announced plans to start transporting wood products to a paper mill within the year of 1897, and maybe connect to another construction industry by the end of 1898.

- Here's a picture of PRyA's cargo operations that were acquired with the merger of Pudingbury Railway and Associated Cargo. Last year another coal mine was reached by this company's rails, and it also delivers to this power plant.
