Railway stations consists of more than just station buildings so I made a water tower tile suitable for a larger station.

Water tower is great. I 'd suggest a brighter roof for the station.

Re: Where do I sign up?
Another great model.
I just think artists should focus on replacement graphics first. Noone will really use 32bb/full zoom until all ingame graphics are replaced.
Damn, I should try to create something too. I am with my 3D skills no match to artists like you though

These stations are awesome!
It would be intersting a empty tile. It would need the a render of the floor of Small rural station, without building and elements.
EDIT: I have coded the water depot and medium station. I have created a new tar file: wotan_stations2.tar with the 2 new stations.
Remember that You need:

Re: Where do I sign up?
In this post I will put the sourcecode and a screenshot of the water depot.
The base tile of water depot was taken from the OpenGFX Replacement Project, but It isn't show if You use the TAR file.

I tried giving the semaphore signals a go. This is the entry signal.

Re: Where do I sign up?
Beautiful as always.
Btw are you sure such semaphors are that flat? I have probably never really seen such semaphore, but...what are they made of?

Re: Where do I sign up?
A semaphore is basically a piece of board mounted on a pole. There really isn't very much that can make it thicker. Semaphores have been made both of wood and of metal.CommanderZ wrote:Beautiful as always.

Re: Where do I sign up?
Agreed, Wotan you're doing a terrific job. It's guys like you ( and Maquinista of course) that we really were missing in the 32bpp community. Thumbs upCommanderZ wrote:Another great model.

Disagreed.CommanderZ wrote: I just think artists should focus on replacement graphics first. Noone will really use 32bb/full zoom until all ingame graphics are replaced.
The first step forward in graphics is moving from 8bpp to 32bpp in standard zoom levels, as the standard zoom level 32bpp is in trunk, it will be accepted by a large part of the community, and thus creating 32bpp graphics standard zoom is important. But when extra zoom levels will be the next step after that (I consider my patch as pioneering / exploring the possibilities), it is very hard to upgrade standard zoom level graphics to higher zoom levels, when the artist is gone. And history has learned that artist come, create some models, and leave again. Just check the wiki, full of beautiful 32 renders, that we cannot pngcodec, because the models are not available.
That's why I think that artists should render in extra zoom level, and normal zoom level, which is relatively easy when the model and artists are available. Members of the forums can convert the normal zooms to 8bpp while that project is not complete, and important for copyrights etc. and to get a consistent look over the various graphics platforms.
BTW, I also think it is time for a 32 bpp (standard or extra zoom) screenshot contest, to show what 32bpp is capable of, and where work needs to be done urgently

Good idea. I added a maintainance ladder and some extra detail.Slye_Fox wrote:you could add the matanence ladder and platform.

Re: Where do I sign up?
They do look great, however, you can't really distinguish the different types from many view. If you have any ideas how to fix that, i guess it'd be great. Maybe you can make the yellow/white bars bigger, so that you can also view them if the signal is not facing you...
But hey, great work
