Sergej_S: right, this is just getting stupid. These graphics your using. You havn't asked anyone if they can be used. They were never released, there just preview shots.

In this you said ''Graphics by Joed''. Well I can make out 3 other peoples work in there.

In this you said "Graphic images are taken from a free collection of the Icons found on the Internet " Um. Well again I can see many peoples work in there. Now I know you havn't asked some of the people that made some of these, because I'm one of them. I don't really care as that is an outdated render, but thats beside the point. There not releases, there just previews that were not in any way stated to be free for all.

> http://www.tt-forums.net/images/avatars ... 942b08.png

Your profile picture seems to just be Aracirions work.

These posts seem to be popping up everywhere and I don't think they should be. Half these preview shots must not work when viecles turn around because I havn't seen renders of the other angles.

In conclusion could you:

1) Ask the creaters of the graphics
2) state the names.
3) don't spam with rubish that isn't what you make it appear to be

Usaully I don't partake in these "who made what" and "who should credit who" debates, but this is just getting stupid now.

Could someone who speaks russian please just translate this so that it is clearly understood?

<edit> Thanks 'Damage' for the translation.

I could.

Translated by Damage (tried to make it almost identical). Hope this will help.

I welcome the author of graphic images!

I shall try to answer under the order questions:
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: These graphics your using. You havn't asked anyone if they can be used.
http://www.tt-forums.net/files/openttd_32bpp_5_652.png
The graphic images were placed on a site
http: // wiki.openttd.org/index.php/GFXDev:32bit
Enhanced GFX replacement
There have shown the future - but we want to see it today!
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: In this you said ''Graphics by Joed''. Well I can make out 3 other peoples work in there.
Is I do not know
On a site http: // wiki.openttd.org/index.php/Enhanced_GFX _replacement
One author - Joed is specified only in section "GUI - Toolbar Icons"
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: In this you said "Graphic images are taken from a free collection of the Icons found on the Internet"
Um. Well again I can see many peoples work in there.
http://www.tt-forums.net/files/openttd_32bpp_6_164.png
Here is spoken only about icons of a window of a vehicle
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: Now I know you havn't asked some of the people that made some of these,
because I'm one of them.
If the electronic addresses of the authors of graphic images are known for me, I sent them the letters.
The problem is that is not present either addresses, or the site is inaccessible, or the author does not answer.
I personally sent you two letters, another even till three.
I invite all authors of graphic images - together we shall make the future already today!
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: Your profile picture seems to just be Aracirions work.
To this author of excellent, remarkable, very beautiful sets of graphic images of buildings,
I also sent the letters, when has found his (its) electronic address!
I very much would like to work with such remarkable, brilliant author!
Ben_Robbins_ wrote: In conclusion could you:
1) Ask the creaters of the graphics
2) state the names.
3) don't spam with rubish that isn't what you make it appear to be
1 - I have written the letters to all authors, which addresses has found
2 - I specified names of the authors, which graphic images were included in ready files GRF/TAR and
Are accessible to free loading from a site of the Internet
3 - This phrase I could not understand
I have understood the mistake - it is necessary to show only graphic images from the made file GRF/TAR
And factory installations TTD-1995 is correctly?

With the large respect for all participants of a forum!

I very much respect the professionals of graphic images!

joed wrote: There's no Photoshop involved as I use Illustrator instead, find it much easier to work in for graphics - though limiting with effects (like emboss etc).

I'm concerned that round corner will involve A LOT more work in the long run and more difficult to code. For example, there wil be 2 buttons styles at the base - one with a curved corner, one without.

Also, do we try to mimic the current UI layout with a new skin or create a completely new UI model - maybe buttons as icons and located down one side or at the top of a dialogue for instance....
The large thank for the good letters!

I very much would like to work with such excellent foremen of graphic images!

I shall wait impatiently for letters on occurrence of new graphic images!

How do you get those in the game?

I see a lot of 32bpp graphics (your avatar) in this topic now but how can you get it in the game without grfcodec saying "cannot read truecolour pcx files!" :?:

You use tar, not grfcodec.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

That falls right smack-dab under the classification "Questions not to ask".

But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here; go get any Unixy system (such as Cygwin). Every last one of them comes with tar.

RSpeed tycoonfreak: If there are any .tar files with the graphics in, they are probably in the .blend thread, but as said, the majoirty of these graphics arn't complete, or havn't in any way been finished/anouced as done and/or released.

If Serqej_S wants, and the author permits, theres no reason why its not ok to stick incomplete tar's here, but it just seems a bit lame sticking together unfinished work, when it will all come in time, and in a far more completed state. Really though I don't think "together we shall make the future already today!"....shortcuts won't achieve anything.
