Maybe I am lucky, but I have never had XP itself crash. Last check I was running 5 months with out a crash. Only restarted to due some windows updates.

I would prefer to use Linux, am waiting for Christmas tho, expect to get a copy of Mandrake 9...

For those of you who say you want to run all your windows programs on Linux. Just buy a copy of VMWare (about 60US). It will allow you to run Windows on your Linux desktop. That way you can run all of your windows software, including installing new stuf in your windows partition as you slowly convert all your software to Linux compatible.

I am busy trying to work to switch (AT&T Canada)... We use a lot of test tools that use an X-Server, and have pay out of our nose for licenses for X-Server software for Windows... If we switched, we get a free X-server with X-Windows, saving a fortune in X-Server licenses (like Hummingbird) and Windows licenses.

Ya, you talk about the end of the world, and I talk about my computer.

Well, when my PC crashes it is the end of the world to me.

Imagine what would happen if we had a weather control network that could control the weather running on Microsoft?!? What would happen when it crashed on a daily basis?!? That would be disastrous.. Maybe even 'cause the end of the world LOL

The end of the world is likely to be caused by the terrorist attacks which lead to a WO III....
I think australia is the safest place to be.. cause its not involved in the war between al the other parts of the world... :D

I agree observer... Some terrorist attack will start and all out war in the Middle-East (very unstable as it is), and that will drag the whole world in after it.

What will make it very bad is the fact that many of those contries have nukes, and won't be afraid to use them. After the first nuke, you have the US going ballistic (literally and figuratively)... When that happens, we a have all out Nuclear War. With every nuclear power throwing nukes all over the place.

Then comes the end... For the few who do survive something like that, they will have live thru a nuclear winter. Not the greatest chance of survival for the human race if something like that happens.

Pretty sad eh? We are the only creature on this planet with ability to think and better ourselves and what do we do? Create things that have the ability to wipe all life of the earth... We are a sad creature indeed.

Hm.. I don't agree fully, Australia is a first world country, pretty aligned with the US, so maybe it's not that safe. I personally think that in a terrorist attack or nuke war stuff the safest place to be is in the middle of nowhere, but here down south it's pretty good in that sense... Although crime here is dubble folding each year.

The terrorists would have to have a hell of a lot of nukes to nuke the whole plannet. If they are gonna nuke the plannet then its gonna be a war between russia and the US.
