Um... the short hood on the 3098 is the same size as any non-snoot SD40-2/SD40. It lacks the porches on the end though. What do you mean it's "Huge"... ?

Also, B52 stated he wanted to draw the DT66-2000, posted pictures, etc. I then pointed out the futility of adding such a unit, to which Andrew replied "OK, I won't draw it", after B52 stated he was going to do so. Wouldn't you think what we think?

Milwaukee Road EF-3 Boxcab - The short "Bobtail" units act like B-units, although if only 2 EF-3's are used, they should be back to back. The bobtail only appears in consists of 3 or more. All centre units should be bobtails.

These replace the EL-A in Arctic.

Very nice! Shouldn't they be a little more closely coupled though? I like the livery!

I'm going to have to try to find a use for them. I almost never use the EL-A as it's quite expensive and painfully slow.

Dan - Really good. I like it :)

But one thing bothers me - milw boxex were just that - boxes. But the roof in horizontal view makes it seem like they were curved...

Thanks for the comments :D I 'do' need to tweak the diagonal roof on that bobtail though.

Well, getting details and such was a PITA. They had railings across the top, which I attempted to illustrate, as well as if you look at this photo, the roof was indeed curved, with a straight deck.

I may take a look at it later though.

Well Born Acorn, if you don't like it, then don't say anything about it, unless you want to look like a retard.

Hey! Hey! Calm down! This isn't worth an argument over. B52 and Andrew are different people. Or they aren't. What difference does it make, as long as they draw well?

Please, take it to the OT section. Large topics like this don't split well :|.

I am very much interested in the specs that would be used in this mod :). I would be certanly be using this locomotive to haul coal and passengers (Non-express) all over the place :).

The specs are about the same as the current boxcab, aren't they?

As a suggestion for another possible livery (just because I find it looks rather sharp), how about the Iowa, Chicago & Eastern (or ICE for short)? It's far better looking than liveries like the EJ&E, for instance, and makes a better (looking) representation of liveries seen in the Midwestern region of the country. I believe they run mostly SD-40-2s and some GP varieties. Given the current way the US Set is set up, this could only be available in artic climate, of course...

I think the DB set already has the ICE in it. :P

Seriously, it's a nice enough livery. We already have something in the set that looks quite similar, I hadn't noticed it before until it cropped up in a game I'm playing. I don't have any objection to having a livery variant in this livery of a loco we already have in the game. I'd kind of like to have the selected liveries first though.

Attention Oracle!

I have been continuing to play full games through each of the three climates with the new version. I would have liked to get all the way through while we were testing, but of course, that takes an awful lot of playing time, which I didn't have. So alas, I have found some late breaking bugs.

1. On the ALP-46, it has the NJT passenger cars, which is great! But it doesn't have the NJT mail cars, alas, and it should.

2. The F59PHI used to have matching bilevels. It now demands bilevels only, but doesn't get matching ones - instead it gets the old-style commuter bilevels, which is wrong. So the whole train looks odd.

So you try to show railings that are ~0,5 inch thick with pixels that represent about 2 square feet? A futile attempt to say the least.

EDIT - and currently it looks like it is amfleet...
