It was DanMacK, and his signature says:
"As of this point in time, my sprites are public domain, feel free to use as you see fit, all I ask in return is credit for the original artwork"
So I figure it's okay, as long as I give credit.

However I probably should give credit for the ones from before. those are all modified NARS 2 graphics (don't know whose they are originally). The F45 only has the chassis from the SD45 in the set.

You should probably should work on the F45 a bit more, and do the blue colour like pIkka does, its not too bad though, I hope to see the finished sprite soon.

BTW, a FP45 isn't much different then a F45, just equipped for Passenger hauling

The graphics in NARS2 are all by Dan and me (some all me, some all him, many originally by him and then modified/liveried by me). You should feel free to play around with them, edit and post what you like, but you'll need express permission to actually use them in any other set.

Looking good!

Time is not on my side for spriting lately (too many other things going on ATM), but feel free to use anything I've drawn for the NARS. Same with my other stuff.

Well... I hope someone codes those Sprites soon, I would love to have some GP40's, 39's, SD38's and the F45 when its done

Great work on my currently favourite set! Keep it up :)

However, since you'll be doing an update soon, I thought I'd report these few little bugs...

The Amfleet cars are mostly sleepers. This only happens after I load a game. When the reain turns around, it goes away. On other trains, there is sometimes a lightweight baggage car in place of the amfleet buffet. It still carries passengers.

Hey, if anyone wants to attempt the MPI Xpress Commuter's, heres some Pictures of the best, the MP40PH-3C
Its more or less Toronto's GO Transit's Own Locos, as no one else has ordered the above Model yet, only the MP36PH-3S and 3C have been ordered

regearing isn't support with ecs... it replaces by limestone (if put ecs at the bottom) or limestone replaces by regearing...

Nothing we nor pikka can do, ECS uses A LOT of cargo slots and limestone happens to override NARS2 regearing if ECS comes after NARS2, and regearing overrides limestone (limestone quarry will make gearing) when NARS2 comes after ECS

I hit a snag when using DanMacK's FP45 for the F45. His FP45 is longer that the NARS2 SD45 by one pixel. I don't know how that would work out in game, so I started from scratch. I hit a snag with the cab and nose area, so I used the one from DanMack's FP45 and re-coulered it.

What'd ya'll think about the new one?

I'm going to do a second run after these ones, except to match the cab units paint for passenger trains, if it's possible to code it so that it changes it's scheme when pulling passenger or frieght cars. Wish I had the passenger car sprites so they could be colored to match the cab units.

You can get all the sprites by decompiling the grf.

...and to de-compile it, you need grf codec

an easy way to use it is, extract the grfcodec to a fold like
C:\GRCODEC

then make a shortcut of grfcodec.exe, then right click the short cut, and in the target, add at the end of the target -d NARS2.grf
eg. "C:\GRFCODEC\GRFCODEC.EXE" -d NARS2.GRF

if you find that you get pink bits in the sprites, add -p2 after -d to change the pallet around

You should have NARS2.Grf in the same folder or it wont work, obviously :p

You will need something that can open and view PCX images, irfan view is a good program for that :)

As is the GIMP.
Also, if you look on the TTDPatch Tools page, you can find a link to GRFWizard, which gives a simple and clean graphic interface, which may be simpler for you.

Nekomaster and Gremnon, thanks for the tips. I've got it decoded and would like to use GIMP, but there site is down so it's on the backburner.

Worked on the some more. Pretty much everything from the frame up is from scratch.

I think it's pretty good. I based the location of everything by the SD45's fans and cab windows. I could have used the DD40AX cab, but I decided against it.

Neko, Thanks for the tip on the gimp will give it a go tomorrow.

I got them done for player 2 and 4 using that as a base. Player 3's is about 50% done. After that, doing the FP45 (just a livery matching the old cab units on the F45) and matching the passenger cars up.

It should be coded that when passenger and mail cars are attached the F45 becomes a FP45 in the info window of the train

Now teh FP45 should be fairly easy. I re-used DanMacks FP45 for player 3 (yes, I'm feeling a bit lazy right now), so I really only have to make 3.

In the mean time I'm going to try the passenger cars to make them match the engines. Anyone got any ideas for Player 4's since I've never seen a black passenger car. I'm thinking one of the following:
1. use the players second color for the car body and have a a stripe for the first color.
2. re-use the original grapics
