Yes, this is CP´s "1502", out of a series of 12 units (1501 .. 1512), built by Alco (RSC-2), delivered in 1948. These were used on all main lines, and also for the Sudexpress to the Spanish border. In the 1970s original prime movers (type 244) were substituted by 251Cs.
Because of electrification and acquisition of modern diesels, they´ve been pushed to the southern Alentejo network in the 1990s, positioned in Barreios, running local trains to Setúbal, Praias Sado and Funcheira. Service of this class ended june 2001, with 5 locomotives sold to local construction company Somafel, including "1502".
