Well it's definitely possible but yes, the process is costly.

...I'm not sure why they've even got it.

Bo'ness have a working set of the Class 303, and that's only 2/3s of a set of the Class 311. Not even two driving coaches, but one and a carriage.

I think they had the other driving car, but that fell into even greater disrepair and was scrapped I believe.

I guess the presence of asbestos also explains the lovely colour coordinated steel sheeting.
I thought that was just because it was in Coatbridge.

What worried me was this on wikipedia:
Bristol City Council, in partnership with other local councils in the area, are currently proposing that the route of the railway should be used for a guided bus route to serve the south-west of the city, implying that, should the guided bus scheme go ahead, the railway will be closed.
...but over on the council website the plans make it look like it will remain and share the use of space with buses!

Might be quite an interesting mix!
Yeah, I thought it was interesting how the Harbour Railway wasn't more upset over the plans. Even if the tracks remain within the busway, surely it destroys the character of the line. Not that i'm saying a preserved line should have priority over new infrastructure, but can't really see the point of running down a busway! :P

Tbh though, i can't see the busway going ahead in the current climate.
